I refuse to stand up and pledge allegiance.
Until this country is truly created equal, with liberty and justice for all.

I haven't recited the pledge of allegiance since maybe 4th grade. Not out of principal, but because we just...stopped. I honestly think people make a bigger deal out of it than it really is.

I'm not so sure, it seems to cultivate a nationalist sentiment... which in the wrong people, can lead to xenophobia

Is it sad that when I read that title I thought, "Yeah! Me neither, cos those colours like totally clash!"

Anywho, good on you for standing up. Any plans for action to correct the wrongs you see in your country?

Even if he does you can't make a country perfect. Just too many people. All the attempted Utopian societies=failed.

i didnt and dont say the pledge because of the " one nation under God" line.

not everyone believes in god so why should we claim to be a nation under him.

That's because people use pesticides and DDT...

I think Canada should just 'borrow' California state and Canadianize the hell out of it (restore gay marriage and other liberties), keep it for the winter (so we have somewhere warmer to go) and give it back in the spring. Taaa-dah!
