My eyes look STRAIGHT ahead....

I know how you feel. I myself have forbidden fruit syndrome, and bad. There aren't too many gay people around where I live, and those who are super-queens. There's nothing wrong with them, they just don't do it for me. So I turn to the straight man, which is an abundant species up here.

 

Is that right? Did I misunderstand Kinsey? I thot the findings were that something like as much as 64% of the population is something other than 100% straight. Would some one straighten me out on that?

 

I've been there. If I had a dollar for every time I got talking to a gay, found him cute, smart, and interesting then BAM either a girlfriend walks in or he just says how hot some cute little gal is.

 

You're definitely not alone there. Every guy I ever had feelings for is undoubtedly straight. For me it's that I for some reason want a guy that's the exact opposite of me personality and appearance wise in some aspects - mainly being very outgoing and having light hair blue/green eyes etc. though I want him to retain good wisdom and be pretty nice as well. Tall helps too. For better or for worse, one of my friends fits that exact node and he's straight, so seeing him at least once every week is a kind of mixed blessing to me. :lol:

The gay or bisexual guys I know in my area are the feminine types or I don't find them that attractive. There's nothing wrong with them, but all the qualities that I'd want in a guy almost always happen to be on a straight guy. In light of that I'm doubting the existence of gay guys outside of porn that I'd be attracted to.

I'm attracted to both masculine and feminine guys, just so long as it's not over the top in either direction.

 

This thread makes me feel minty. Maybe I've been terribly lucky, but whether or not that is the case, I've found plenty of attractive and nice gay people in my life. The key is to keep your options open. You're probably not going to end up with your ideal boy or girl. Accept it, move on, and guess what? You will form new ideals from the available options, and end up with a wonderful sexy person who adores you more than anything. :]

I think, too, that there's something about how a friendship develops with a straight guy that can make them appealing. When I see straight guys around girls, they act (generally) like morons and peacocks. They are trying to impress, and I think it's absurd. However, when they're hanging with you they aren't trying that, and I find it's a genuine friendship. I think gay men find that appealing in many ways (I know I do) - trouble being, of course, that in the long-run in doesn't work out.

I, too, am not particularly attracted to camp gay guys - that isn't how I roll.

I have wondered if gay people might not act "gay" in order to compensate for the fact that numerically we have more difficulty meeting people, so we have to send signals to try and mitigate that disadvantage.

Anyways, short answer, yes I've been attracted to several straight guys - having never really hung out with gay guys, I have yet to find one of them attractive, except for in movies or on television.
