Same thing I thought with Borat:

GET. OVER. IT. Sacha Baron Cohen is a comedian, this is how he does his job. It's a complete and utter waste of time to complain about his films, and find them "insulting". If you don't like the films, it's insanely easy to just not watch them...

But I'm definitely going to see Bruno, it looks hilarious

Yeah, I doubt I'm gonna see it, trailer's quite funny but I don't really like SBC's humour too much, and I hate things that pretend to be real-life when obviously ir's not. But I'm not offended by it at all.

I don't know how the some Gay people can band around and embrace other pieces of Gay media that presents exadurated and unrealistic images of the average Gay person however when it is created/writen or peformed by someone who is not gay it is a great in justice..

First, this is in the wrong forum. [hiss]

Second, I saw Bruno and loved it. For those getting offended by it, here's a tip for you: don't watch it. Get over yourselves and learn to laugh at yourself. That way people won't think you have a champagne bottle up your ass, like Bruno's ex did. And we all know how he turned out don't we?

There were a couple of quotes in the commercials that made me laugh. But I'm not really a fan of that kind of comedy, so I doubt I'm going to go see it.

It doesn't offend me, though. Honestly, it kind of pokes fun at all minorities, not just gays, and you have to learn to make fun of yourself every once and a while. I like the idea.

GLAAD seems a lot like PETA to be honest.

I'm SEVERELY annoyed by this, it pisses me off to no end and I find EXTREMELY demeaning to gay people. It disgusts and offends me.

Neither, actually. It's not my kind of humour, so I'm not planning to watch it. I see it as incredibly obvious satire, and anyone who sees it and thinks "that's what all gay people are like" most likely already got that impression elsewhere, and would believe it without seeing the movie.

    The joke's on them.

I'll wait for the DVD. I really appreciate what Cohen's work stands for, but I'm not rushing out to see the film.

I can't wait to see it.

I love how he pisses off people. The scene I really want to see is where he was camping with those backwoods redneck guys and asking them which Sex and The City girl they were.

    *shrug* It's a movie.

I find thinks insulting in it, but at the same time, I find myself laughing at the same exact things.

I saw it last night. The whole movie is hilarious-- holy shit, he somehow interviewed a real terrorist! I'm pretty easy going, but I found a couple offensive things. It felt a bit more like it was making fun of homosexuality than homophobia at times, and the rushed final cut seemed incomplete (1 hr. 22 min including credits?) since they had to cut out about 30 minutes of material so it would be rated R instead of NC-17. At the end, one guy in the audience yelled out, "BrĂ¼no's a faggot!" and a lot of the audience laughed as they got up to exit, so I'm not entirely that the movie's social commentary struck home. Whatever, it was still hilarious and worth the money.

I just got back from it. I went to it with a straight male friend and i laughed about 10x more than him. Alot of the humor he didnt even get (like the shirt that said "FIST" haha) but he thought it was funny and it actually exposed him to the fact homoSEXuals have SEX. That did him alot of good because i think it helps him, and other people, realize that we are not just humorous TV side-kicks.
