Shadow of the Hegemon by Orson Scott Card (part of the Shadow series in the Enderverse). Not quite finished yet, but liking it just as much as I have the first two I've read.

I just finished Kazuo Ishiguro's The Remains of the Day. It's one of the most calming explorations of the meaning of an individual's life that I've read. It's quintessentially English, but the acknowledgement of that makes it open minded and gives it a gently mocking, reflective tone.

    I loved it.

The Remains of the Day is one of the books I could easily re-read several times. Loved reading it.

Finished reading a short story collection entitled You Do Understand, written by Slovenian author Andrej Blatnik. Most of the stories fit on one page. Some are written in two lines. It was definitely an interesting read, and some of the stories brought out the theme of the stories quite well: the wants and needs to people, and how they at times go unacknowledged or are not understood by the people around us.

Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe. I read it all in one day and loved it.

Dark places by Gillian Flynn. So scary (and trust me I don't have a weak stomach but satanic sacrifices give me the chills) and so depressing. But it was a pretty good mystery. I would recommend it.

Blood Promise by Richelle Mead. It's the fourth book in the Vampire Academy series.

Finders Keepers was a fun sequel, but if you read it now it'll be another year for the final in the trilogy. :/

Tell that to George RR Martin fans.

Actually just started Mr. Mercedes myself. What'd you think?

Working on several books at once. I've been busy so not a lot of time for reading but as of right now, working through Mr. Mercedes, Bad Monkey (Carl Hiassen), Life of Pi, and 'Salem's Lot.
