The Illustrated Man by Ray Bradbury was the last thing I read(Love his works so far, interesting and weird at times). Currently I'm reading The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

Into the darkest corner by Elizabeth Haynes. An amazing book that explores the pain a person can suffer after they are raped, especially by a person they trust. I highly recommend this book.

I'm reading The Last Herald-Mage trilogy by Mercedes Lackey. (Okay, I'm actually re-reading the books) This is one of my favorites because the hero and his lover are gay.(*hug*)

Gabriel Chevallier's Fear: A Novel of World War I. It is my first autobiographical novel that I have read, and it was a very good read. The novel is quite moving and paints portraits with varying landscapes. Jean Dartemont joins the call to arms as so many other young men did in 1914/1915. He is eager to get to the front lines and to be part of the action. But the desire to be part of something heroic is soon replaced by the real fear of being wounded or killed in action.

The trench warfare that characterised World War I, and cost thousands of lives is described in details as seen through the eyes of Jean Dartemont. In describing the attacks and counter attacks, his stay in a hospital after being wounded, his brief stay with his dad and sister before heading back to the front, he realises that civilians only see the good in war, the heroism in soldiers and the defense of their nation but have very little understanding of what it means to fear the fighting, the running in and between the trenches making sure not to be seen above the parapet by the enemy, the fear from gas attacks and the fear of seeing comrades fall to the ground.
