Lock 14 by Georges Simenon. My second Maigret novel and though I took too much time to complete it, considering it's only about a hundred fifty-odd pages, I preferred it to the last one I read, The Madman of Bergerac. Set among the barge and canal lock communities within France I really enjoyed the atmosphere, which appropriately has a great deal of rain, mud and cloudy weather.

Though I haven't read many mystery/crime novels in general, one of the things I appreciate about Simenon overall is the brevity of his writing. It's so terse as to seem mysterious in itself, almost as though it doesn't need a crime to begin with.

Being as behind as I am in my reading, I only just finished the Hunger Games trilogy. Loved the story, but I felt the writing could've been a bit better.

I NEED to read The Dome! It's on my list now, behind too many other books. lol :icon_redf

Lately I've been craving a good Stephen King book, and from what I've read about The Dome, its premise sounds a bit like The Mist, which I really liked. An uncut version of The Stand is still sitting on my bookshelf though, but it's huge and I'm afraid it might take ages to read. I want to do some light reading first.

Recently read Inside Camp 14 might be the most harrowing account of human cruelty in the modern age that I have ever read.

I just finished reading The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, which was extremely good, and am now proceeding onto Breakfast at Tiffany's (which I'm expecting to be amazing as well)

I only got into reading this year, and since I started I haven't been able to stop! The last book I read was Uglies by Scott Westerfeld - it took me a little while to get into but it turned out to be an exciting, interesting read and I will definitely have to read the rest of the series! I'm currently reading Divergent by Veronica Roth - also an interesting read, so far; I cant wait to find out what happens. It's always keeping you reading with the love interest and what 'Divergent' really means and what is wrong with the Dauntless faction... I recommend both of these books because they are amazing.:icon_bigg

Finished Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder over the summer for my AP English class. Was an... interesting read to say the least. It's all about philosophy. Was cool with the book until the end, then it just got weird.

Little Brother by Cory Doctorow. Was also a good book, all about hacking and "cyberpunk", NWO kinda stuff. Learned some new things about computers and all the tech parts are pretty much legitimate.

Currently reading Seven Deadly Sins by Corey Taylor.
