Life As We Know It. Wasn't very good, but seeing the shot of Josh Duhamel only in his underwear was well worth it. lol

I got the Blu-Ray of "Rocky Horror" today, and watched it. The image quality was very good, and the sound was bombastic. The songs sounded amazing. Love the movie, it's a blast to watch! And the music is just amazing. A perfect Halloween movie.

I've been wanting this movie on Blu-Ray since I got a Blu-ray player, and I was not disappointed. This is probably my favorite musical. I love, love, love, love this movie! The direction is flawless, and the film is so groundbreaking visually. Nicole Kidman is fantastic in the film, and then there's Ewan McGregor. Ewan McGregor singing "Your Song" makes me swoon. I fall in love with Ewan McGregor every time I watch this movie. Back in 2001, he was my first official gay crush. He's still swoon worthy. :icon_bigg

New York, I Love You - It's a collection of short love stories taking place in New York. I loved it. Having had to wait a year to see it I appreciated it even more. It made me want to visit even more...

All That Heaven Allows, (1955). Just really couldn't get into this one. Sure, it was a biting social commentary of the conformity of the 1950s in the 1950s, but arg! It was so painful to watch!

The Wicker Man, (1973). This is a combination of the horror and musical genres, with general insanity to tie it all together. And Christopher Lee. It has to be seen to be believed.

Bringing Up Baby, (1938). This is one of, if not the best, screwball comedy films ever, and one of my top five movies.

Spider Baby, (1968).

The best way to describe it is to take a quote from a review on IMDB:
"At one point in this movie, Virginia (Jill Banner), the Spider Baby of the title, grabs a spider from the table and pops it into her mouth. Her sister Elizabeth (Beverly Washburn) quips, 'Spiders don't eat spiders.'
'Cannibal spiders do,' retorts Virginia, and this scene sums up everything good about Spider Baby: twisted, funny, and possessing an internal logic that pretty much justifies anything it does, no matter how preposterous."

Before I forget again, I also recently watched Godmonster of Indian Flats (1972).
Oh dear lord, this was a bad movie. An eight foot tall mutant sheep formed from gas in a mine, and maybe partially from the sheepherder?, runs around terrorizing small children and gas station attendants and also dances with the ladies before being captured by twenty cowboys and then finally blowing up in a dump. Amongst other things. The worst part may be that it was filmed 10 miles from my house and I know people who act similar to this and everything still looks the same.

Boy, what a unique film. 1962. Birth of the Mondo genre. The reason movies like Faces of Death and Cannibal Holocaust were made. This film was pretty amazing. I don't really know how to describe it though, just showed... the world? From a different point of view in a sense? I dunno. I loved it though.

Second Documentary of the night. This is the stuff that really... puzzles me as to what the fuck is wrong with this world. The people involved with the making of this film are some of the people that really inspire me to want to help directly too. It's about the ongoing genocide in Darfur, and this former Marine Brian Steidle's attempt to create awareness after having witnessed the atrocities in front of him, not being able to do anything to stop them, for six months while working in Sudan as a ceasefire monitor. It's not really news that it's shocking that nothing has been done, but this film sorta gives you even more reason to be completely disgusted that no one is doing anything to directly stop the murder and the rampant rape. I'm guessing things have quieted down in comparison to 2004-2005, but it's still fucking ridiculous that everyone sat and did nothing to prevent it, just like Rwanda. =/

If you don't know what the movie is, I am shocked. A simple google with have you swamped with results.

I had never actually seen this movie before but I had always wanted to so while I was at a friend's house I noticed they had it and suggested it!

I love it. Plain and simple, I loved it. I actually hated the villain, something I didn't expect to do (he is such a sexist pig) and I have always loved the story in the first place. Some of the animation was quite impressive and the songs worked well with the movie, as expected of a Disney classic.

I want to watch it again, and again, and again...

I've been watching a few of the "Nightmare On Elm Street" films, and finished watching this one. I have to say, this is one of the most unintentionally (so they so, LOL) homoerotic films I've ever seen. And I did relish all of that. Next up is "Dream Warriors," then "New Nightmare" for me to watch. I've seen parts 4, 5, and 6, but have no desire to see them again. I remember not liking them when I saw them.

Then there's this (which I loved because it made me laugh.) Enjoy! :icon_bigg
