Ever been so insanely obsessed with a band/singer?

No, not really, unless Nobuo Uematsu and Susumu Hirasawa count.

As music obsessed as I am, I don't recall ever going totally apeshit over any one artist. There are artists I like enough to buy everything by, but even then, it seems I still have sort of objectivity.

I remember buying Prince's Lovesexy album (on vinyl!), rushing home with it, putting in on the turntable, and listening to it while perusing the liner notes. And by the end of side one, I was thinking "This isn't very good, is it?" (No, 1988 Lex, it isn't.)

I MAY have been a bit obsessed with the Art of Noise at one point in the mid 80s. I remember bringing my copy of In No Sense? Nonsense! (again, vinyl!) to school to loan to a friend, and discussing it rather in detail over lunch. I remember being quite excited about it, although it's not really my favorite album of theirs now.

I wonder if perhaps I'm just not the obsessive type. I'm quite a fan of Gary Numan, and I joined his online fan club years ago. When I hit the questions "How many Gary Numan inspired tattoos do you have?" and "When you dress up as Gary Numan, which period look do you dress up in?", I realized perhaps I wasn't quite the "fan" these other people were...

    Her name is Katy Perry.
I saw her Hamburg and she talked to me from the stage.
I got her guitar pick after the concert.

    Katy Perry... I love her.
Actually, love doesn't begin to cover. It really doesn't.
I'm listening to Katy right now actually.

    There's another girl.
Her name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, but everyone knows her as Lady GaGa.
I love her so much that I began drinking Campari (even though it tastes like shit) because I saw a bottle of it in one of her music videos.
I've seen every GaGavision episode at least 5 times. I've got every single word to every single song of her's memorized (Even the demos that weren't released)

    When I love someone/something, I get obsessed.

I'm on an absolutely ridiculous Dream Theater buzz at the moment... here's last week!

I'm only missing about 2 of their albums too now, Awake and Images and Words. Will have to yoink if I can find 320kbps MP3s anywhere.
I might be going to see them in Leeds on June 12 too, but if I'm accepted to the JET program I won't be going as the embassy will have to take my passport before then for visa stuff.
