    ...but I was wondering if, maybe, anyone with even the slightest religious inclinations could say a prayer for my mother?

    She's in the hospital with really bad pneumonia. It's bad enough that she already had lung disease, asthma, AND she smokes a lot. She's on oxygen constantly with no signs of improvement.

    I'm just kinda worried. I'm not all that religious myself, but since there's not much else I can do...I think it might help me feel better?

    So uh. Thanks in advance maybe?

    You don't have to be religious to pray for someone. As long as you believe in something, it's listening to you. At least that's how I look at it.

    but yes I will and my heart goes out to you. do the best you can to be there and make her comfortable.

    Hey, I don't think I believe in that religious stuff, but if wishing will do anything, I will wish as hard as I can that your mum gets better. We only get one mum, so I will ask whatever is out there to look after yours. Really sorry you are having this tough time specially at Christmas.

    The great thing about God is he listens and responds even if you don't think you're talking to him. I'll absolutely pray for you and your mum. (Hope that's not too audacious for my 7th ever post).

    I'll certainly keep your mom in my prayers. I hope all goes well. I know where your mom is at. I have COPD and I've been really sick with it ,many times. Just being there for her can make all the difference in the world. I hope she gets better really soon.

    Something you guys did must have worked.

    She's not 100% recovered, but she's gone from wearing a full-face oxygen mask to just those annoying tubes they stick up your nose. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: So she's getting better. My dad told me that she could be coming home as early as tomorrow!

    Thanks so much to everyone for their prayers/positive vibes. Now we just have to work on getting her to quit smoking!
