What do you do when You're lonely/had enough?

    Just wondering what some of you do when you feel down or you just cant take any more crap.

    Personally I indulge in shopping therapy. I am a brutally addicted, thrift-store Junkie. When days like today get me all wound up. It's time to break a ten and get myself a new pair of jeans and some shirts. Gods, everything I own/wear is from the goodwill.

    But what do you guys do?

    Call my closest friends and talk about it. I can never feel better about something by keeping it inside.

    Other than that, I listen to songs that pertain to my situation and sing along quietly. It usually gets me to a point where I can cry a little, which is often a very relieving thing.

    But I say most importantly is to not let yourself be alone for an extended period of time. Call someone. Go hang out with someone. Do to distract yourself or as a means of talking about things.

    I try to keep my mind off of whatever is bothering me.
    I read,watch a good movie or sleep.
    I suffer from clinical depression ,so through the years,I've tried to find
    things to boost myself up. Keeping your mind occupied does help,a lot.
    I agree that being with other people can help,also.

    I bake a batch of cookies, wip out a tub of ice cream, and proceed to eat all the cookies and ice cream together.

    Then I make a batch of brownies. Open another tub of ice cream, and repeat.

    Then to give myself a break from sugar make a huge bowl of popcorn and eat that with several gallons of beer.

    Then I pass out in a food coma.

    Wow, lots of comfort food going on. the goodwill trip went poorly, barns and noble delivered excellently though, as did starbucks (mocha frapuccino is my friend!). Tonight I'll go to a couple of my support group meetings and chill with some friends. I agree on the not needing to be alone part.

    Yep same here.

    I just keep driving until I have no idea where the hell I am. After a while I'll find my way back home.

    Drink Sangria or a glass of my favorite red wine. Have some croissants, cheese and chocolate at the ready and put on some music. Usually ends up with my calm enough to lie down and cuddle with my blankets and pillows in my warm bed. It makes me sound old....but it works and I don't do it often...so its relaxing to be alone sometimes.

    Also I get my I pod and hit the gym workout and ignore the world for a while.

    I clear my mind, lay down and watch tv for an hour or too. lol probably why most of my day is spent in bed

    i listen to music- music is a big part of my life, singing also,
    so when i'm depressed or anything i just turn on the music and
    sing along haha

    I watch episodes of "Will and Grace" and pretend i live inside my T.V.

    Dunno why, but it always makes me feel at home to pretend i live in such an open, sarcastic world :slight_smile:
