One thing I have begun to notice is that a good portion of straight men think it's a hot, turn on when they see gay woman making out or lesbian pornography. Straight guys seems to have no problem with gay women. But, however, (intolerant) straight men think gay men are gross and disgusting. I find this to be extremely contradictory and down-right disrespectful. This is one thing about straight men that really pisses me off. I know not all straight men are like this, but those who are are awful. What do you think, have you ever had an experience with this?
I've noticed that from coming out, I've gotten less shitty reactions from guys, who are usually like 'oh, thats hot'...
I've noticed it a lot as well. And I just don't get it, (no offense to the ladies but) a man has so much more to offer...if you know what I mean...
Oh how I love hearing that, it always makes me laugh. In the opinion of the women-lovin-women on here, we'll completely disagree, what a man has to offer really doesn't catch our fancy, a lady has so much more to offer
i suppose its not that hard to get your head around why a lot of straight men, get turned on by the idea of 2 woman though, because they are attracted to women afterall, whereas they dont get turned on by the idea of 2 men, because they are attracted to women, not men. plus many men seem to be socially conditioned to think its disgusting sadly. although i think it may get better now that the younger generation are bringing up their kids in perhaps a more open-minded way. ive seen quite a few men have problems with gay women though. even at my job ive heard some really nasty homophobic stuff said by the guys, about a gay girl at work (who i secretly like).
It's true that if you like one of something, you'll probably like two of that thing even better. (Reese's peanut butter cup? Yes please. Two Reese's peanut butter cups? OH YES PLEASE!) While I do understand the basic sexual urge behind straight men liking to watch lesbians, what always bothered me (especially when I identified as a woman) was the sense of entitlement that usually came along with it. So many straight men I have encountered *expect* lesbians to let them watch or even join. That's when it crosses over from simple lust into more of a social problem. And damn it, more straight guys should watch/read shonen-ai (lit. "boy love"). I think anyone who finds women attractive could go for a pretty little bishounen boy once in a while, no? Too bad people get tied in such a knot over what they're "supposed" to be attracted to.
I tell you, young immature guys can do your head in. We had a water fight on the school pitch in Dubai and the grass got all muddy so it turned into a mud fight. Pretty soon all the guys stopped to stare at two severly hormonal girls kick the shit out of each other. No one tried to stop them tearing each other apart cuz they were 'just too turned on by those girls wrestling in the mud'
Totally agree. I hate that!! It's a form of disrespect to lesbians, because they assume that it's really just for their benefit. 'It's not real sex, and besides how could they really like each other? Obviously they're just making time until a guy comes along.' We are not living out your fantasies, straight boys! This is just us! Get over it. A telling thing is that when you get a more butch lesbian who doesn't conform to their ideas of a "hot girl-on-girl" type person, they get all homophobic again. Because that kind of girl isn't "hot" she's just a nasty dyke. btw, I love cute bishounen. *high five*
