hey.... i was just wondering how many of you have seen the movie "shelter" and if you could tell me should i bother watching it?.....i heard that it's a good movie....but wanted to get more opinions on the matter http://www.heretv.com/sheltermovie/
great movie. hot boys. surfers. ;] it lacks a little bit of refreshing guilty pleasure nudity though. ;x
It's my favorite movie lol, though there's a couple thread in Entertainment + Technology about it, that's where I first found out about it :3
It was a good movie but not great imo but that's like most gay themed movies they lack the budget and all that. i mostly didn't like the main guys acting. but despite this i still think its worth the watch, at least once. it did have a beautiful story to it. i much preferred Latter Days. maybe that's because i was raised Mormon.
It's on YouTube... most of the gay-themed movies are on there. I liked Shelter's story, and even the acting wasn't bad, but the amoral sister and friend offended my sensibilities (what kind of people use drugs and swear like that in front of a 7 year old?). Latter Days also had a great story, and I found it much less offensive.
Sad thing is those sorta things happen all the time. :icon_sad: And Latter days is really only offensive to homophobic Mormons lol what with the swearing, nudity, sex scenes and the defiance of a missionary.
That is sad that things like that happen to children in real life. I had never encountered anything like that in a story before, and I found it very remiss. I liked Latter Days a lot more than most of the other movies I've seen; really, the most swearing came from the restaurant coworkers, not from the main characters. I don't know, I just find all the gratuitous swearing to be pointless. I find that it just takes away from the scenes (in all movies, not just these).
Shameless bump. I just got finished watching it, and it was a decent movie, but it didn't seem to have much depth to it. It just felt like another very basic romance movie, but with the twist of the main pairing being gay. The acting was fair enough for an indie movie, and the two guys seemed comfortable enough with each other, but some of the lines fell flat. Jeannie, despite being my least favorite character, probably had the best acting skills of all of them.
I just got done watching it right now and I think it was exceptional.... But that's because it's depicting more or less what's going on in my life right now. I'm sure that once I watch it again in the near future I'll find it to be mediocre.
