What's everyone's favorite part (or topic) in history? Mine's ancient civilizations -- probably Ancient Greece.
Anceint Rome, Egypt, Greece, persia, Macadonia, Sparta, Britan, vikings, i know choose only one but i cant, if i had to choose only one it would be Ancient Rome. also the second world war manily in Europe
- Modern History - German empire, 19th and 20th century europe, post-colonial africa and yes i do like history, its my most favourite subject except when its done under the heel of "Australian History" (not the topic but the subject curriculum)
Soviet Russia, I find it fascinating. Also, Victorian London, more specifically the Jack the Ripper cases, I'm an avid amateur Ripperologist, as is my mummy
probably the world wars but we never talk about em much in class and I have not learned anything new about them from school in a while, we have a chapter or two at best for them.
Gosh, really? We learn about them all the bloody time in British schools Mind you, in the UAE we're not strictly allowed to learn about the Holocaust, but I went to the holocaust exhibition at the Imperial War Museum in London to find out for myself, and thankfully we had a very awesome history teacher who gave us a basic grounding of it ^_^
The World Wars piss me off, mainly because of the otrocities My fav would have to be Japan's Feudal (Warring States) Era, Samurai fo sho
Crusades. Killing in the name of God... right.. I still love reading all about it. And when I was like 15 I was totally transfixed on the Roman Empire.
I like Roman history and also the middle ages. I like the Tudors and Stuarts too. But I like most historical periods!
Ancient Egypt is my passion, but many subject interest me. I like Nazi Germany, the world wars, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome and the disaster of Pompeii, The Romans, The Vikings and The Tudor period with Henry the Tart and his six wives =], i also like the Medieval times and the Victorian era. Ooh, now that i look back, that covers quite alot of history lol. Oh, and I liked doing the Cold War and all the topics that go with it
Yeah, we never really go in depth about anything unless the class is specifically about it I would hate to not be able to learn about something but its really cool you were able to learn about it. Do a lot of people learn about it on their own in the UAE?
I love history. Everything from ancient times through colonization is my favorite. Everything from colonization onwards I'm not all that interested in. The older the better. My specialty is Ancient Egypt.
Oh yeah, my mother is a Global History teacher for my school and teaches the AP World History, and the AP European History classes. I had her for a teacher. And have a chance to do independent study with her. I don't know if I should or not...
