    WAIT, RULE OF THUMB!? In the early 1900s it was legal for men to beat their wives, as long as they used a stick no wider than their thumb.

    (Waits patiently ^_^)

    Oh and to make a valid post, I have mine filled in as Men and Women. :slight_smile:

    I've noticed that there aren't too many Irish people who fill out the "interested in" section on Facebook, compared to people abroad. I *do* have it filled in as "Interested in: Women" though. :slight_smile:

    I don't have it filled in on mine, and the guys I know who I *think* are gay don't have it filled in. The openly gay guys I know do have it set to "Men"

    I checked women, when I made my facebook.

    That probably wasn't the smartest idea, but since my real name (or preferred name for that matter) isn't on it....

    mine's set to men. The majority of people I have on facebook I'm out to anyway, and the rest haven't commented/noticed.

    I don;t have mine filled in. If people want to know that I'm straight, they can just ask... Plus most people assume I am anyway.

    If you befriend them, you can set the privacy settings (which are liable to change, but let's not go on that tangent) not to show that field for set groups of people.

    I have mine set to men. At first I had nothing, then I changed it. One day I just decided to write on my headline that I'm gay, thusly coming out to whoever was interested. Pretty efficient, I gotta say. Family members who've commented have been really supportive. :grin:

    Mine was originally set to women when I thought I was bi and I was also fully closeted then, but now that I'm slowly starting to come out to people I've removed that I'm interested in women and I don't have that section filled out. I plan to change it to men when I've told all the important people, but I think only a few people will notice/comment anyway lol.

    Ever since I made facebook, I never checked anything....but over the summer I changed mine to "women" and nothing much has happened. My cousin and a gay friend from high school both congratulated me on coming out, but that's it.

    I felt so excited when I finally realized I was gay and everything in my life just clicked into place, hell, I wanted to shout it from the rooftops! I figured facebook was the next best thing.

    -agrees- most people i would have thought were gay, have blank statuses for interested in... As for me- it shows, but can only be seen by myself xD mwuahah

    I used to have mine filled in as interested in men, but I pulled it off my profile completely for now. Soon I will probably check both and make it so certain people can't see it (my family for instance, I'm not ready to be out to them yet), but I don't really see it as a HUGE deal, its just facebook and most people probably won't notice anyway...

    And I have my as interested in "Men" and know a majority of people have their's listed as what they like. But that being said, some people are genuinely to lazy to fill out the section.

    However, as littledinosaurs said, as a general rule, those who have nothing listed but other information filled out are probably gay/bisexual.
