Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status OMG, ^_^ I love you, Kato (*hug*) I leave mine blank because I am a chicken.
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status Before I came out, it said straight. Just to avoid anybody questioning me. I didn't say gay, because I didn't want anybody to know, duh. And I didn't leave it blank because I didn't want to raise questions, because I hate lying, and I'm not good at it anyway, so I wanted to avoid it all together.
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status that's cause u need to have a cell to make it fun and have followers and u have to be following
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status well today i decided to tell the truth on facebook i feel alot better now
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status When I first started my facebook profile, I filled in "Interested in Women" (so straight), but then I deleted that account because I had added so many people from school that had requested friends requests (and I hated it). Nowadays, I have a fb profile that is heavily protected and ONLY has close friends and family. But I still can't say I'm gay because I have aunts and uncles, sister's friends etc that don't know...:tears: So it's just blank atm =( And I hate not being able to tell the truth on my OWN PROFILE! It's ridiculous...
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status i've put myself and men and women... which is the truth. my mum already knows, everyone at my old/new school knows, and i don't care if my aunt (who's on Facebook) knows!
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status go on http://www.twat.me.uk... my brother made it, he designs websites... make sure u know what the Twitter website looks like first though!!
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status Can I change my vote now? I switched mine to the truth a couple days ago
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status when i first clicked the button for 'interested in: women'... NOBODY noticed!!! i dont think people bother to look at your info because if they're friends with you, they already know you and dont feel the need to find out more.
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status I think thats so true! I've left mine blank on myspace and facebook. It used to say 'straight' on myspace but i removed it a couple of months ago.
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status I think I should change my vote (if I could) So earlier this week I was feeling massively depressed and dysphoric so I deactivated my facebook account, when I deactivated it I had 18 friends who I was all out to about being bisexual. Tonight I made a new account first three friends I added (only three so far) are all relatives who I am completely closeted to so I put my interests as women so that they think that I straight.
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status Interested in: Men I saw no point in leaving it blank after I was out of the closet within my family. After my parents knew I was okay with anyone looking at my page and knowing I was gay. My profile is even open to viewing from people who're not friends with me.
Re: Facebook/ Myspace Status I'm necromancing this thread! I finally changed my 'Interested In' status. I had always just left it as blank, but I feel like I should just bite the bullet. I also changed my Politics and Religion while I was at it.
Facebook - Interested in... Do you specify anything for the Interested In field on Facebook? I don't, but for no specific reason. I did a quick scan of other gay boys who are very much out, and less than half specify anything. Then a quick selection of other male friends, and I'd say over half do say Interested in Women, not checking those who specify being in a relationship with someone. Can't really say how representative those samples were of my friends. I've noticed changing this field on Facebook seems to be a big step for some people here. I'm not really sure if I have strong opinions one way or other about it, just wondered what thoughts any else had. I did think of changing it recently, not as a way of coming out, which I've fairly much done, speaking about it in a college debate, mentioning it on my blog, etc., but just kind in case anyone is wondering. Recently I met two girls from school at comedy gig in town, who I hadn't seen in over five years. I was there drinking a margarita, which prompted someone earlier to say "OK, you're officially gay now". I wondered if they'd picked up on my being gay. I added them on Facebook the next day, and thought that if the Interested In had been specified, it would have confirmed what they might have thought.
Re: Facebook - Interested in... it's a rule of thumb here that if they are a guy without something listed that they are gay on some level, especially if most other things in the basic info are filled out. but that's just us. *shrug*
