    Damn these sweeping generalisations! It's probably partly because I'm most acquainted with local accents, but here accents are noticeably different from town to town. My village is a similar distance away from 2 towns 10 miles apart, and I can tell who went / goes to which school just by their accent. So saying 'English' is a bit of a sweeping generalisation. I'm guessing you all mean BBC English though.

    A few people
    British, Icelandic, Russian... I'm not sure which one of these I consider to be the sexiest one, but Polish (with all the distinctive features of Polish pronunciation) is definitely one of the worst - when I listen to my dad or some of my classmates speaking English it's so annoying that I want somebody to give them a lesson of proper phonetics as soon as possible. :bang: Once I've met a lady who thinks it's lovely though. I do my best to sound like somebody from an English speaking country, but sometimes it's just too much effort.

    I love cultured, British accents, the refined kind that have had vocal training, but my gutteral instincts love Russian accents, the mix of harsh rasp and crisp, clipped sounds
