What if there's a guy out there that doesn't have a lesbian finger? What does that make him?

I'm going to check every girl I know for the "lesbian finger" now.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid many straight guys do just see us as "porn material", although certain straight girls I meet think I'm in love with all of them, before asking me if I'm ever going to shave my hair off and gain a ton in weight.

Yes, unfortunately there are some who think that all lesbians have short hair, are incredibly fat, and have a load of eyebrow piercings.

There was also one who asked where I kept my flannel shirts and power tools.

Luckily, they have been the minimum in my life.

The power tool line made me laugh...

And James, I have no idea what a guy would be if he lacked a long ring finger.

I've seen a few guys that have index fingers longer than their ring fingers or of roughly equal length. The stereotype is that these guys are more likely to be "gay".

Didn't this come up in season 1 of 'The L word'? And they said Jenny's fingers were exactly the same size so they said she was bisexual.

    Coincidentally...or maybe not...she later went gay.

^^ lol... brilliant plan... next time we both come out to someone we will have to use this as evidence...

"I have something to tell you... my ring finger is longer than my index finger!!"
    "oh.. so your point is??"
"well.. it means I MUST be a lesbian... sorry.. can't help the way I'm made.. it was meant to be"

:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: the fun we could have lol........

That is SUCH a good idea. Just lay your fingers on the table, and offer it as your incontrovertible proof...

I've also had the thing where EVERY SINGLE girl I have come out to assumes I fancy them. I can tell by certain, I don't know, signs. Or they just say it. *sigh*.

The worst reaction I got (which is rather offensive, sorry), was: "The people I really don't like are rapists and paedophiles". Well, er, me neither...

I am fully expecting, but luckily have not yet got (people I know have), the whole "But what do lesbians do, exactly?".

And I fully intend to answer: "And what, exactly, do you do in bed?"

Yep, I've had the "what do you do?" quite a few times.

I just say "never underestimate the role of hands and tongue"

I have a str8 friend who is married with kids and is terribly flamboyant. Debunks the whole stereotype thing.

i have a lesbian finger! i had no idea that testosterone made your fingers grow! i must have measured my fingers about 15 times now just to double check. i'm definatly gonna start measruing people's fingers now.

god i really hate stereotypes. like whenever i go to the pub and order a pint i always get asked if i want a half just because i'm a lass. that is one thing i am least looking forward to when i eventually come out. i can practically gurantee that any guy that i tell will automatically assume that i am up for a threesome because i am bi.

lol flannel shirts and power tools. that is such a cliche. and i've heard quite a few people make 'spiky haired dyke' or 'big, butch lesbian' comments. why is it that people have to judge each other and make assumptions? yes there are some butch lesbians, but not every lesbian has to be butch, and not every straight man has to be macho. etc.

i'm loving the whole longer finger as proof thing. also, if a straight girl happens to have a lesbian finger it paves the way for comments like: 'oh you must be a lesbian because you have the lesbian finger. just like i must fancy you because i'm a lesbian'

i'm not looking forward to women assuming i fancy them when i come out. but it does seem to be a misconception among the straight community that gay people automatically fancy any person who happens to be the same sex. obvoiusly gay people are sex addicts: - according to bad stereotypes.

OMG ccdd, i can't beleive somebody actually said something so nasty and ignorant to you! (*hug*) i really hate that predjudiced people say that all gay people are peadophiles. no, that is just stupid. gay people are attracted to members of the same sex, NOT children. peadophilia is a disease, NOT a sexuality. it's just unfortunate that homosexuality was also classed as a disease in the 80's. perhaps that's where uneducated people get confused.

and as for rapists. i am sick and tired of people saying bigoted, ignorant comments like 'watch out, backs against the wall' for example. yeah, because that is exactly what would happen. i am gonna jump on top of you and try to rape you because i am gay and you happen to be the same sex as me. god it makes me angry that people think that. :tantrum: the majority of male rape is commited by straight men because rape is about power, not sex.

it really annoys me when people say that all gay people are sex perverts. we only want what everybody else wants in life. to be happy. to find somebody who loves us, and a healthy sex life is just part of human nature. who's more perverted? a straight man who is into extreme s & m or a gay man who has a loving relationship with his boyfriend?
