I would only start wondering if they have everything else filled out except for Interested In.

Otherwise, I'll put it on a stack of pure laziness.

I've just got 'Interested In: Men' on my facebook at the moment, because my mum has facebook, and I don't want her to find out just by looking at my profile.

Mine on myspace is not there because when my mom looked at my profile, she told my sister she was "disgusted" and my dad would probably kick me out if he knew. sooo yeah that's my reason.

I left mine blank, but I also left political and religious views blank. I just have my name, gender, hometown, and birthday.

I'm in the "Legalize Same-Sex Marriage" group, though. But I'm also in some other political ones that pertain to abortion, energy and separation of church and state, so... lol

I know mine's blank for that reason... But at the same time some people are just too lazy. It could be either way.

  10. My facebook is set to Interested in: Women. Purely because my parents already know. But now my grandparents are online...I may have to change it and just leave it blank...

Or I could just come out to my grandparents. Pah, as if :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I didn't fill it in because I did not go that far when setting up my facebook. I didn't even realize that this question was out there until this discussion came up and I went to have a look at my profile. I also did not fill in my relationship status, political or religious views; I also left blank all the "personal", "contact" and "education and work" fields. So, from my point of view: no, it doesn't mean a thing, only that the less you fill in, the less you get picked up by spammers.

I've had my Facebook set to "Interested In: Women" for a long time, I get plenty of "find single women" ads.

Pretty much anyone I know who has a Facebook I'm out to anyway, and my sister (who I'm not out to) only ever uses Bebo.

I left it blank for the longest time.

But, two of my friends on there either had it blank and filled it in or never filled it in and their straight.

It depends on the person, but you would definately need more evidence than just myspace/facebook. So many people these days are lazy.

    well.
i think it definetly increases the possibility of the person being not straight, although, some people are just lazy and don't bother answering.

but if you think about it from my celebrity perspective, celebs who are asked about their orientation and decide to say 'i'd prefer not to disclose that information' are usually the biggest fairies.
    lol.

To the original question: YES it COULD mean they're gay/bi/unsure

For the other affair: I think you must consider other factors such as

What's the level of costumization of her profile (if she is constanlty changing things ans answerign everything it's a signal that she might be)
