1. NARTH 2. PFOX 3. Exodus 4. American Family Association 5. People Can Change These people are disgusting.
Those organizations are ass. And not the good kind. And there are tons of others that are similar. Those organizations are the epitome of psychological abuse.
God....if my parents saw those they'd try to send me to every one, but I highly doubt that it would do anything. But I seriously do love the way that some of them say "Through the love of God...blah blah blah....changed....blah blah" I don't really think that mental torture counts as the love of God.
homesxuality has a cure?! this isn't scientifical is it? if they brainwash people and hypmotyse them to be straight, if my mom found out about these people she would empty her life savings to get me to them ASAP.
But you're 20 they have no power over you, even if you live with them! Nice quote. I bet if there was a website out there changing straight people into gays you would all be jumping up and down right now. Seriously though, I have hated these kinds of things for ages.
My mom has actually seen a few of them. She's a minister-in-training, but she hasn't so much as mentioned them to me since I came out. She has stated that people shouldn't try to change people though, "People are made the way God made them." But I can see how some parents would do that :/ My worst fears before I told her were not accepting me and trying to change me >_<
Sigh, I never bother a shit about these organizations. Why all the change? Sexuality is inside the person - you can say that it's almost involuntary, like breathing and stuff like that.
If your parents are going to be supportive, they won't care about those organizations. If your parents are the type to freak out, and are somewhat ignorant of homosexuality, they'll probably search out those organizations. Lex
How can we destroy these organisations? (Har har har, I'm so wicked!) Also, these groups are doing more harm than good. I don't think God will be happy to see people inflicting mental/physical pain to others. He tells us to love each others. (*hug*)
These people think that by "curing" people of homosexuality they're actually freeing them from their pain. They just don't understand that for most people it has the opposite effect. They can't understand. No one comes down on them for being straight or calls them evil for being who they are. All they're doing is forcing people to hide their real feelings. They just can't know how incredibly hard that can be. We need to start a letter writing campaign or something informing them of the real consequences of what they're doing.
...Sounds like an awesome idea! But I doubt they'd believe a word of it, because their minds are clouded by religion.
if i was out to my family they would have these places on hot link...and help lines on speed dial...trying to change me any which way they could, even thought nothing would happen except make me mad, and i wouldnt talk to them....these places want to "help you, and guid you through hard times"...i think its a crock of s**t
