I knew on when I was like 8/9. I didn't know what gay was or anything at all about it. I just realised I was different when all the other boys talked about how "sexy" (I don't think any of us knew what that meant then) Britney Spears was and I all I could think of was how much I preferred Justin Timberlake.

My mom is lesbian, so I never really thought about what my sexuality was for a long time until one day my grandma said some stuff assuming I was lesbian just because I was my mother's child (Specifically: "I hope she doesn't end up with Abby" multiple times) and I was so offended at the stereotype from my own grandmother that I squashed down any questioning of my sexuality from that point on. When I was about 12 in 8th grade my best friend came out to me as bi and I started to wonder a little about myself, but I destroyed all of those thoughts viciously and went into denial until freshman year when I was 14. I've only become completely comfortable with it recently after one of my other close friends came out to me as gay though.

I've always sort of known. I only accepted it last year though.

I guess you could say society pushed me down the wrong path. I live in a homophobic society but always knew I was different. Tried going out with girls but that was just so I could fit in, and I failed terribly.
My New Years resolution this year was "Screw it be yourself", and this is where it has led me.

This all the way! I always "knew" I was different. Society pushes you towards heteronormativity. But I did accept myself back in October. I share the same New Year's Resolution though

Yeah, I have gained myself so much freedom. Still remain in secret, no need to worry about it till university.

I have known since an early age. I tried to stop myself from being gay in middle school and high school, but that didn't work. I had come to terms with the fact that I was gay, but I felt like there was something wrong with me and that I was going to be a disgrace to my family. I went off to college and now I have really discovered that I am ok with the fact that I am gay. It is a part of me that I no longer wish to change. I came out to the first person about a month ago, but now I am slowly getting to the point where I would let other people know too.

I found having girlfriends pretty uncomfortable, especially the complications that followed and I guess I just never found it as exciting as most of my friends did. I never took into account looks when I went out with a girlfriend, it was always down to personality. No body else around me noticed that, and neither did I until later on. I never was happy in any of those relationships. I'm a sucker for films, especially children's films lol, and the typical boy saves girls, they fall in love story always got me, and I loved it. But after seeing gay couples on the news, tv etc; I never found it disgusting or uncomfortable, even though everyone else did. Seeing how happy they could be actually made me feel quite happy, and then after talking with a friend online about his relationships, I found out he was bi. That made me curious, and I tried gay porn, then I guess from then on I never stopped watching it and I eventually just realized I'm gay.

As soon as I started to masturbate, I knew I was gay, so 11 for me. Accepted at 14. Out at 15 (not particularly though choice).

I don't feel the need to continually tell new people I'm gay, but I'll never deny it if asked.
