The original Call of Duty. The original was THE BEST in the whole franchise mostly because it was simple. No DLC and pay extra crap. the campaign was fairly long and very fun. And the online community was very nice. Sure we had our trolls but for the most part everyone mostly knew each other in the big clans and it was so much fun. I logged so much hours into it. I even played in tournaments.

Then it got big and...now it is how it is.

Suikoden series. Even though #4 sucked in somethings 1, 2, 3, 5 were really good.

At the risk of sounding like a hipster, Mario Party, Mario Cart, or Super Smash Bros. on the N64 are the best games I've ever played. Friendships are set aside when you play those games. Maybe it's because I was young when it was popular, but I have yet to encounter a game on a different console that riles me up more.

    I'm keeping my list short:

Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box: Quite simply one of the best racing games ever made. Can't tell you how many hours of my life that have been wasted on this game.

GTA IV & EFLC: Amazing. No other words for this.

Minecraft: What Ryuichi said and it also has one of the most beautiful soundtracks I've ever heard.

Yep! I love the series! All the new characters and soundtrack, and extras, it's a really amazing game.

Astro Boy: Omega Factor for the GBA. It has one of the most intriguing and complicated plots I've ever seen. Also, it has robots and time travel!

I don't know if I could say just one... it's probably a toss-up between GTA IV and Fallout 3. Honorable mention goes to NBA 2k12 for having the best presentation I've ever seen in a video game.

I know I'm late to this and it's been dead for a few weeks now, but I'm like a moth to flame.

This question is tough, mainly because for me it is dependent on when(what gen console or what year for PC) you're asking. I'm gonna break it down by the consoles I've owned and PC(although I've never had a "real" gaming computer). I'll keep it (relatively) short.

    PC-Abe's Oddysee/Exoddus

Sega Genesis- Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Sonic and Knuckles(with the ability to hookup sonic 2/3 to the game cartridge and make the game bigger. I peed the first time I did this.), Earthworm Jim 1 &2, Primal Rage.

N64-Perfect Dark, Banjo-Kazooie/Tooie, Super Smash Bros.

Gamecube- Eternal Darkness, Super Mario Strikers

Xbox 360-Bioshock 1 and Bioshock Infinite(screw Bioshock 2, sorry 2K Marin), Fallout 3, Borderlands, Batman Arkham Series

    Skyrim
    GTA 5
Ni No Kuni Wrath Of the White Witch
    Pokemon X & Y
    Animal Crossing New leaf

The last 3 games are kiddish but they are still good
Ni No Kuni is personally my favourite cause you get to level up familiars and you are a wizard (I love games when you are a magical species)

Morrowind. It was the first open-world rpg I played, not played it for years now but I still remember there being a sense of foreboding without the need of reminders every 10 minutes...and that you could break the main quest but still go on to finish the game.

My favorite game of all time is Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Freaking creepy, depressing, and overall awesome. I've played it at least two dozen times already.
