Depends on the car. I really like the styles from the 50s and into the 60s. Also, working on cars together was one of the few ways that I connected with my step-dad.
Not really into cars, although i do fix them and im pretty good at it, but i just dont have a passion for cars in general. Like if its not a car that is commonly driven on the streets right now i have absolutely no chance of identifying it on sight.
As a side money maker but mostly just as favors. If its a really small job i normally do it for free, or if someone was referred to me because theyre low on funds, I'll charge a low price
I like classic cars, but I don't own one. Many modern cars are characterless and ugly and too difficult to work on or enjoy. Even though my first car was by no means a classic, I could still dip into a Haynes manual and have a go, but I wouldn't do that now. If the car goes wrong it goes to the garage where they have the equipment to work out what's wrong and fix it, or, more likely, fit a new part. I do quite a bit of mileage, so keep a boring runabout these days that's fairly light on fuel and gets me to where I need to be. Not the car I would like to own, by any means, but it comes down to practicality and affordability.
Classics are pretty cool, my first car would be nudging towards classic now well in terms of age atleast, she was a 1993 Peugeot 306. I loved that car.
My first car was a 1991 Peugeot 309. A bit raucous and totally unrefined, but it was fun and a good car to gain driving confidence in.
I like anything with an engine. And while I can work on every component in a vehicle, I am not great at just identifying them on sight. I couldn't tell you how many of something was made or every engine option but I do like car, trucks, boats and motorcycles.
