I dont know tbh. I try use fantasies to discover, but even if i feel some arousal sometimes fantasizing about sex with men, i cant keep it. So could this mean that i am heterossexual? Or bi?

In my honest opinion, I think you're probably straight and are struggling with OCD (I've read some of your posts).

I'm feeling great. Thanks for asking! We should probably continue this conversation on our profile feeds though.

LostInDayDreams mentioned on a different thread that long one-to-one conversations on threads can discourage other members from posting on the thread. That's why I mentioned us having our conversations on our profiles.

Wow! Bisexual is only behind by one vote! I definitely wasn't expecting the results of the poll so far. I honestly though homosexual would be far ahead of bisexual.

If you don't mind me asking, how long was your bisexual phase that you referred to?

Probably just a few months. During that time I was being exclusively intimate with another man and had zero interest in women. Hence calling myself bi was silly. I was simply afraid to acknowledge to myself I preferred men. When I finally accepted it, the sense of liberation and freedom to be the authentic me was incredible. It’s been three and half years since my gay awakening and even with all the ups and downs I wouldn’t change a thing. For me gay is so much better.

That makes sense. Quite a few gay people that I know also went through a very short bisexual phase for various reasons.

I would say for me at the start is was shame and internalized homophobia. As aroused as I was by another man at first I didn’t want to admit it. I felt embarrassed, unmanly, and sex acts seemed dirty. All these negative emotional responses while totally enjoying sexual intimacy with another man. The safest response I thought at that time was to say I was bi. Silly looking back but at the time seemed to make sense and lessen guilt.

I can totally understand. It was definitely shame and internalized homophobia that prevented me from accepting my bisexuality. Deep down, I've known I'm bisexual since middle school, and now I'm in my mid-twenties and just a few years ago started to accept it.

Same here. I can also be super aroused by a woman though. Surprising as it may sound, I even felt like my sex acts with a woman seemed dirty (when I was younger). This was probably a result of growing up in a fairly religious household. Sex before marriage was condemned and I was taught that a man and woman that are married should do nothing but PIV sex but I really enjoyed other stuff also, such as oral.

I've also had sexual intimacy with another man (I was pretty young though). I enjoyed it just as much and maybe even more than the sexual intimacy I've had with women. I didn't really experience negative emotional responses though. I was pretty rebellious though so I guess that makes sense.

My response was that, "I must be straight. Being bisexual is wrong." Telling myself that I was straight and not gay but "went through an experimental phase" lessened the guild at the time. I'm so happy to be at a point of acceptance towards my bisexuality!

I'm kind of surprised heterosexual has the same amount of votes as pansexual. I honestly thought pansexual would have more!

It does count! Sorry though, I should of added a "questioning" option. Maybe someone on the EC staff can add it.

I've written elsewhere about being a teenager, 35 years ago, in a very restrictive culture knowing I wasn't heterosexual/homosexual. I'm not sure I knew of bisexual but, from latin, I knew "omni" meant all so I declared myself (to myself) "omni-sexual".
I now love identifying as pansexual: I define it for me as being attracted to whoever I'm attracted to and being enby attracted to them however I am. I can be traditional m/f, m/m, but also feel a strong pull towards f/f and f/m (me being the first letter in each conjunction).
