This is a time of isolation, uncertainty. Life during this age of darkness gets more boring and harder by the minute. It seems that by the first few months people were already giving up on life. Every home is dark, everyone's mind just motors repetitive and rather annoying thoughts. In the weirdest and most painful times,
    What keeps you going?

Comrad.....Family is what really keeps my head above water...all the time, not just during this time of pandemic. When I say family I mean more than just my biological family. My LGBTQ+ Family is a very important part of that too. The time I spend each day here on Empty Closets is a big part of what keeps me going. Doing my best to help others here on EC is really important to me. Back in 2014 when I first joined EC I needed so much help and support and the wonderful people here on EC gave that to me. Now I do my best to give encouragement and support back to people here on Empty Closets. That is what keeps me going!

The concept of a better tomorrow. I don't know what that really looks like, but I'll stick with that notion for now.

Music, long walks, a good pot of tea, knowing that some day soon COVID will be in the rear-view, and now this wonderful EC community.

Well, I don't think this is really gonna be over in the sense that it's going away..But nothing has really changed for me...I've worked through this whole ordeal..been quarantined once...but have stayed healthy..so I really don't know.

Family is definitely one of the main things that keeps me going.

Cooking for myself, playing old video-games that remind me of my childhood (I like nostalgic retro gaming to a certain extent), and listening to music! And as silly as it sounds - simply keeping up with and creating good housekeeping habits that will outlast the current situation such as cleaning, laundry etc..

I recently bought an original Xbox and some games I loved as a kid. I've also been playing emulated versions of SNES games on my computer after buying a USB controller. Simple, but it works for me and puts me in a good head space!

a good time to get to know yourself, learn to be comfortable and ok with being alone; as many negative effects as it may have, it's also a good exercise that can enhance confidence with yourself and can show you that we don't necessarily need as many "friends" as we thought. Comfort with self-reliance can be strengthening in a certain light.
Learning the ability to work on yourself and put your own goals first while recognizing how certain types of people can hold you back can really help you grow as an individual. These times can be a good teacher.
But I'm biased as an introvert, to each their own of course!

Last week I was thinking "what makes my life worthwhile?", I'm bipolar and it wasn't a good day. I looked at my Echo show which I have loaded with different favourite pictures and there was one of my favourite ballerinas in an exquisite moment of movement from Le Corsaire and I suddenly thought "That's worth living a while to see."
So ballet and beauty (and the little fluffy dog asleep beside me)

Some days I really don’t know .. but I am holding on to the idea that this is temporary and just a pause on life .. I can’t wait to be allowed to travel again and in doing that continuing my journey of self discovery. Taking a career break at the start of a pandemic wasn’t exactly my best move ! ...
