For the past few days, I can log in and everything seems okay. But when I open a post or go to page 2 of "New Posts," I notice "(You must log in or sign up to post here.)" at the bottom of a post or LOG IN at the top.

I tried clearing my cache and the issue happens again.

    I'm using Firefox.

This is interesting because clearing the cache should fix the issue.

We recently changed server provider and it's caused a few issues. We're trying to round up a list of bugs to let them know what's been going on, so specific reports like this are helpful!

This might have to do with your security settings, or, more likely, it might be that your cookies have gotten corrupted. This has happened to me a couple of times. When it does, I log out of EC, delete all of the cookies associated with EC (which is separate from the cache), and then log back in. I'd try that and see if it solves the problem.

Hi, I had same problem. I used different browser on same pc and it had no problem. After a few days I noticed the problem was gone on my main browser too.

So, Try to use a different browser for the time being. Try Chrome browser.

It still happens to me when I’m connecting from a certain location. But at another location it never happens. So I suspect either the router or the internet provider are changing identity signals randomly.

Sorry about my abrupt posting yesterday, but I couldn't even send you a Contact Us e-mail. Submitting posts almost always results in being logged off. Clearing my browsers Everything (CTRL + SHIFT + DEL) doesn't fix the problem.

I'm just shooting in the breeze here, but does EC have a "timer" that logs members off after a particular amount of time?

This just happened to me as well right after I responded to a comment. I'm using the same PC that I've always used, with the same browser, and am very computer literate therefore it's not my cache or cookie settings.

Seems like an ongoing issue since the changes in November as discussed in this thread.

This keeps happening to me also, I copy my text before I post now just in case it does that so I can repaste it into the box and post it.

I clear cookies all the time and it also logs me out like every fove minutes. I can’t write a post and send it without being logged out even if the post isn’t too long. Maybe the timeout for a session is too short?

The copy and paste method has saved me the time in getting what I want to say onto EC. I’ve also once tricked the log off by hitting the back button, it seemed to work once but I haven’t duplicated the effort. I don’t spend as much continuous time on EC, because once I realize I’m mysteriously logged off, I just give up and go away. I still think the website changes messed with stability, especially in one location where I access via WiFi. Plus I get emails warning me that my account logged in from a new location, sometimes several times as I log back in every few moments.

Usually, websites have somewhere in the account settings the option to turn off email notifications or certain types of them.

This happens because IP address isn’t fixed at all these days. It used to be fixed like 20 years ago.
