Mushrooms should never be cooked. Always taste better raw.

I don't get couples who make no changes their name when they get married. Why would you want to retain your father's surname if you're deeply in love with someone and getting married to them?

Well, these past few months made me realize how rampant racism is and how the world is in denial about it.

    Like, they feel pain...

    Very unpopular opinion.

I don’t like icecream cake. I like ice cream with cake, but not actual icecream cake.

Diet Coke is better than normal coke. The sugar content in regular coke tastes sickening to me. I don’t drink the diet version of any other soda just coke, but I rarely drink any other soda and I never drink Pepsi. I think Pepsi was included in some all inclusive holiday i was on and I drank whatever citrus drink they had other than that. The alcohol was included too but I only drink one day a year and that event was cancelled this year.

I’m not really keen on ice cream, but if I was going to have some it would be chocolate or vanilla.

I don’t like hot chocolate though. It’s too sweet.

Pineapple does not belong on pizza.

Love pineapple and love pizza, but not together.

Final Fantasy IV is overrated. It's not bad, but it could have been better.

Well, this is going to be a controversial one. My unpopular opinion is that it's sometimes OK to self-diagnose. Granted, it's not a favourable option and you should seek diagnosis if possible, especially if it would benefit you. However, there are situations where that simply isn't possible and / or would do more harm than good. Of course, I don't condone telling employers or talking about it in a professional setting. With that said, it can be helpful when talking to family and friends in private. Especially if you have issues where it helps for others to have a basic idea of what's going on. You can also come-up with new terminology, but the important thing is to have a brief and easy way to explain it that isn't too hard to follow for others.

I tend to say that I suspect that I have a condition, rather than say it outright. However, this does tend to lead to others saying "Hey, you know how you have -" and this happens so much that I don't usually bother to correct them by pointing out that I don't know completely if that's accurate, but that it is the closest description I have to go by.

Unfortunately, I'm in a situation where most of the labels that could potentially apply to me, come at a high price and there's not enough support (especially for adults) to warrant that kind of investment. Where I can function fine in most situations, and have the ability to hide certain issues to a degree. Sure, it's not ideal, but the alternative wouldn't be good for me either. It's a weird place to be emotionally, since I know that I am fairly normal / average, but that there are also times where I work significantly harder than most at presenting as such and it can be a frustrating, tiring experience.

People who think that those who are poor/disabled/disadvantaged deserve or are at fault for their life circumstances should be forced to survive for a year on nothing more than a minimum wage job (AND actually work that job, if they can keep it, if not then survive on begging etc). Without access to anything that they already have, including but not limited to financial, personal or family resources.

I do like potatoes, but one thing I can’t stand is sweet potatoes. It’s too sweet and I don’t like the taste.

Young children (especially toddlers) should not know how to work a smartphone. I see so many parents just hand their kid the phone and they watch videos or play games. First off, kids are wild, your phone is at greater risk of breaking. Also you don't want them pushing something they shouldn't or say calling a number they shouldnt. Parents should not just hand the kid their phone to keep them occupied.

Children learn how to use technology incredibly quickly.

Before I had children, I would have said the same thing. I still don’t think it should be a regular occurrence, but some days you have to do what you have to do to get through. I wouldn’t judge another parent for this.

I actually prefer sweet potatoes, but I have no idea whether or not that’s an unpopular opinion.
