Looks like 8, not bad for a Scot:
    • California
    • New Jersey
    • New York
    • Massachussetts
    • Florida
    • Maryland
    • Maine (does it count?)
    • Illinois (if a 2 hour layover in O'Hare Airport counts)

Also went to Washington DC 9 years ago but I don't think that's actually a state.

I have always loved this video. And it's remarkably on point. I lived in northern Ohio, about 35 miles southwest of Cleveland, for about 10 years, so went to Cleveland all the time. However, it was definitely on a downhill slide while I was there, and has gone consideranly downhill since.

I've seen that one. I'm one hundred percent against gentrification. It's what ruined Austin, Texas and it's what's ruining my city. Some rich planner gets it in his head and says "I know how to bring industry! We'll paint the place and totally screw the poor!"

Well... to be fair, there’s a middle ground between the absolute bombed-out, dilapidated condition of Cleveland and Detroit, on the one hand, and a heavily gentrified city like Austin. Many cities have cultivated a decent balance of both.

Oh my gosh, the "we're not Detroit!" is so accurate. When I lived there every time someone bashed the city somebody would try explaining how the city is actually good because of how much better than Detroit it is. Every single time. It makes no sense to me why anyone stays. I was from one of the nicest areas there and it still wasn't very appealing. All they have to do is move a couple hours south to Columbus or Cincinnati to dramatically increase their quality of life, yet they inexplicably stay.

Well, like he says in the video, you can buy a house for the price of a VCR in Cleveland.

As far as I know, that's still literally true in some areas. Of course, it is also true in Detroit.

And Destin, I totally agree that Columbus is much nicer in so many ways than Cleveland. Cinci as well, though I personally liked Columbus better.

I’ve only visited a few, but I like to set up flights with occasional midday lay overs. The ones I have visited intentionally/road tripped to; California, Oregon, New York, Colorado, Utah, Massachusetts, D.C (does that count lol), Texas, Virginia and Nevada. Oh also I guess my home state of Arizona WOOT WOOT!
