Do you know anybody or have you personally married the first person you ever dated?

My Bf and I just celebrated our 6 month anniversary and I really could see us getting married one day. Btw, he is my first real bf.

I am dating my first bf, we found each other in a hick town and nobody else was "our type" lol.
He is an actual sweetheart and I am lucky everyday for finding someone like him. I even discovered I was bi while in this relationship and he met me with all his understanding <3
So yeah I better get married to him XD

Nope, everyone I know married their second, third, or tenth man or woman.

I'm not really interested in marriage, I'm happy with an alternative lifestyle.

Well I didn't, but I know of people who have. I think it's less common these days actually as dating and sex is no longer seen as a commitment to the future and marriage. In my parents and grandparents day if you dated and had sex with someone you pretty much signed on for life and were compelled to make it work. Anything less was seen as sluttish.

No, I haven't had the best relationships in that one aspect of my life, so marrying the first never became a possibility. I've stayed by myself and worked on sorting out my own trauma so I don't hurt other people with it. Maybe someday I will feel ready to try again.

I would guess that the majority of people don’t marry the first person that they dated, but it does happen...I know of a couple that were together at school (in the same year group as me) and are now married with children. I also have a friend that met her first boyfriend after university and they are also now married.

My ex was my first real relationship. We never married, but we have a daughter and lived as if we were married. We weren’t compatible and the signs were there quite early on, but I overlooked them for a variety of reasons.

I know a couple people that have married their first partner. But then again, I know even more people that have broken up with their partner after YEARS. So who really knows lol

I know a lot of people who married their first gf/bf, and I know plenty who didn't. I think that if you do, it's great, but if you don't, it's not the end of the world.

This is off-topic from the thread, but the flag in your profile pic is pretty unique. May I ask what does it represent?

Not OP, but I think it's the nonbinary flag.

Personally? No, though don't really know many people. For myself though? Couldn't imagine it, well. The person I first dated is long gone, not like dead or anything just I haven't had contact with them in like... Four years?
Something along those lines. Though with how my memory is, it took me like five minutes to even remember that person. Going with what I initially thought was my first partner, I could see that happening. Though, unlikely.
