Edinburgh, 1759? That must be amazing.

I don't know much about Doctor Who series. But I think I should give it a chance later when I have more free time.

I’m re reading the Savant series by Joss Stirling. I can’t decide if the idea that her characters have one true soulmate who could be anywhere in the world or dead is depressing or a good thing. Of course the main characters find their soulmate it wouldn’t be a good romance/ adventure series otherwise. And the boy only saves the day half the time.

I'm reading UnClobber: Rethinking Our Misuse of the Bible on Homosexuality by Colby Martin. It's good, I would recommend it.

I'm a bit of a terrible reader (meaning it takes me forever to finish books with my short attention span), but I've been working through "And I Darken" by Kiersten White. Found out about it after I saw a comment on a Youtube video that described the book as "What if Vlad The Impaler had been born female" and I was SOLD.

I'm reading Way of Kings by Brandon (or Bryan or something. I know it's brvowel) Sanderson. If you like high fantasy this is the series for you. 1000+ page books and the characters/worldbuilding is AMAZING. Did I mention the worldbuilding?

Its rating in Goodreads is very high! That must be good for me.

I am currently reading Heir of Novron the last volume of Riyria Revelations series. The series was fascinating. One of the most enjoyable experiences in my life!
It is set in a world that is very much like medieval ages, But with minor fantasy things. It's about two professional thieves who come to help of a young prince and his younger sister. It's about the church (not Christian but similar), kings, princes, castles, swords, etc. Those are the things I enjoy very much.

    How about Way of Kings?

It's a fantasy world that's, yeah, pretty medievalish and it follows the stories of 3 characters: an enigmatic slave, a thieving scholar, and a wising prince (I mean I say prince like he's young but he's the king's uncle so he's pretty old). All their stories tie into the mysterious assassination of the previous king and the Big War going on (that's where the slave and prince are, off fighting the war).

I'm looking at Heir of Novron on Goodreads right now and it looks pretty good! Maybe I'll give it a read.

Thanks for the info. It's a pretty huge series. But I don't mind. Maybe I start reading it later to see if I like it.

Also, Heir of Novron is the third book and you should start with Theft of Swords (The Crown Conspiracy). For me it was a great read (I've read 2 first volumes and 300 pages of Heir of Novron).

Just noticed your age. You might want to know the writer intended to write the series for his then 13-year-old girl.

I just finished A History of Britain by Simon Schama and I'm very happy for it. It covers the history of Britain from the beginning to around 1600. It has also two other volumes that cover later centuries. It wasn't easy to read, because it had many difficult words for me. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it and I learned many things. I immersed myself by those days of England and the religious arguments. Also, Now I can enjoy the historical novels much better. Because I am familiar with those centuries.

I think there are life lessons in reading history.

    Lady Midnight - Cassandra Clare

There are a lot of LGBTQIA couples in her books, which I love because couples like that are normally barely mattering side characters, but there are some really well written romances, straight and gay wives into her books, which are good by themselves:

I’m finishing Broken Trails by D Jordan Redhawk which is primarily about training for, and running in the Iditarod race in Alaska. It had a love story which was actually the secondary storyline. It wasn’t so much slow burn, more non existent for most of the book. It went nowhere until the end of the book. The book as a whole is good. I’m a few chapters in Entangled by Melissa Brayden. So far it’s set in a vineyard and I don’t drink wine or any alcohol because I never developed a taste for alcohol. Still should be good.

Just some Occult books, I believe one is called "A Practical Guide to Witchcraft and Spells"

Basically it's just this book that explains Witchcraft, (Specifically of the Wicca Variant from what I'm reading) and some practices and beliefs in such. Quite interesting, for those who are so inclined to learn about that sort of thing anyways.

So since I am in the closet and never got a chance to live high school like I wanted, I am reading a bunch of YA LGBT books involving high school romance. So far they've all had happy endings (well, I'm 90% through the last one so who knows if all) and since I can't go back to high school I will just live a fantasy via these books. So far in the last two weeks I have read: It's Just Us, Out Into The World, Date Me Bryson Keller, This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story, How (Not) To Ask a Boy To Prom, and Only Mostly Devastated. I'm sure even if I was out in high school life wouldn't have been as easy as these books, but that's why we read/watch fiction. It gives us a chance to escape reality if only for a little while.

I'm reading André Aciman's "Call me by your name" and it's an absolute masterpiece (and, surprisingly, so was the movie).
