I’m missing the gym too, sadly. I’ve been running, yoga is really great to maintain flexibility. I found that lifting children is great for strength, heh, but obviously not a reliable source for everyone. Be kind to your body, though. It’s dealing with a lot of stress right now.

I'm like the only one left at my apartment complex at college, so even though our gym and pool are technically "closed" I just kinda...break in...and use them anyway. There's no management or staff anymore to tell me not to so... *shrugs*

I'm not. I am just trying to avoid any needless snacking.

Accidentally stepped on the scale the other day...

So now I'm either going on dog walks when it's warm or using our elliptical when it's colder.

I banished mine to the yard. Iunno it’s terrible. Some days I’m a couch potato and really just want to do nothing. But then others I’m super productive cleaning and what not. Fitness isn’t just about the body, either. I haven’t picked up an instrument in at least a week. I know, I know, bad band director.

I'm heading out each day to cycle for around 45 minutes - 1 hour. Corona or not, we need fresh air and Vitamin D so it saddens me when I hear of countries who have banned outdoor exercise. That said, cycling is becoming more and more difficult to do safely now that more people seem to be roaming the streets.

Aside from that, got a dumbbell at home so can use that to maintain arm muscle (albeit I probably won't gain any until the gym is reopened). Also do a little bit of dancing since it's just fun.

Exercise is definitely important in this time as frankly, it's very unhealthy to have everyone staying at home inactive and more than likely snacking more often than normal. One positive is that since we haven't had any family gatherings this Easter, that means less Easter eggs and chocolate which was always inevitably a weight gain for me.

I see it as the better option. At least that way I'm still technically at my own place instead of being out in public.

The use of my campus ID to swipe into the huge locked lecture halls to watch movies on the giant projector screen like a private movie theater on the other hand....yeah I deserve tsk tsk for that one :innocent:

Ok real talk... a bunch of us did that in the Navy when I was stationed at Pearl. I believe it was one of the Rocky movies we were playing when the admiral over the pacific fleet walked in.

I've been trying to keep a workout routine everyday. I have some home workout equipment, but I'm typically only using the treadmill at the moment as well as doing some equipment-free workouts.

I'm not in good shape to begin with, but I have been going out and walking. It helps get me out of the house and have something to do other than be bored.

If there's a silver lining to this experience, it is that, since the gyms have been closed, I have gotten out and seen the local parks that I have never been to, in almost 15 years of living in Sacramento. I'm walking/hiking 2-4 miles every day in the parks since the gyms are closed. And I've gotten into yoga... there are some really excellent yoga video series on Youtube, and do 45-60 minutes a day. Not quite the same as elliptical + weights, but not too far off.

I've been trying to get a walk in every day but it's difficult with everyone out and about. There's a lot of ziggzagging. I managed to break my elliptical trainer the other day, which is great timing. Definitely need to try some Youtube yoga videos.

Yoga is really great, especially for flexibility. Sometimes when the band is struggling with some of the routines we’ll spend an hour or so every couple of rehearsals doing yoga in the field house or in the grass if it’s pretty. It works out because our color guard instructor runs a dance studio and it’s one of the things they teach.

I've just been walking. I don't miss the gym because I'm not a gym guy.

BUT all the hiking trails and Parks are all taped off, and I really miss them. I really wish somehow people could followed social distancing so they could have stayed open :frowning2: But some of them were packed in the summer, so I guess I understand why :frowning2:

I have been keeping up with walking, including going on brisk walks in my neighbourhood. I find it helps me to keep track of my step count and to increase the target ever so often.

They are, but I know where the staff hides their backup keys in case they lock themselves out due to a friend working there last year. It's a fake rock outside.
