my teacher told me about that -50 degree chill. scary stuff, i bet if i took a leak it would be ice hitting the ground lol
Ha-ha! By the way, I still remember & lived through the blizzard of '78. It hit in January of that year. I was 12 years-old then, & in the 6th grade (the last year of grade school). I was just so glad to be out if school. Indianapolis had 30 inches of snow from it. Literally EVERYTJING was closed. The Indiana National Guard was called out. That record snowfall amount for Indianapolis still stands as the highest ever. Weather records began in Indianapolis in 1871.
Greetings from the other side of the Ohio River! We got up to a balmy 10 degrees today. I don't mind the cold if I can see the sun. And watching my dog happily walk through the snow is so cute!
Greet GreetIngs to you as well. And yes, it helps a little to see the sun. We saw it here in Indianapolis today too.
Correction: The blizzard of '78 resulted in 15.5 inches of snow in a 2-day period here in Indianapolis. It began here on January 25th & ended on January 27th. The total snowfall anount for the entire month of January '78 was 30 inches.
i've only seen snow once, i was in georgia chistmas of 2017, staying in the mountains in a rented cabin, and on the day we we're leaving, it started sprinkling snow. i went nuts about it, making little tiny snowmen no taller than a pencil
Heh, I lived in a town for ten years where it was typical January weather to go several days without it getting above a high of 0 degrees F (-17.7C). Hell, there was one point where it didn't get above 0 for three straight weeks. It finally hit 10F/-12C and we all went outside in shorts and t-shirts saying "holy shit it's hot out." So uh, nothing new to me.
hey, i googled it, and zefram cochrane's hometown was supposed to be bozeman montana, so mountain hick, meet mountain hick once removed, currently florida hick
I remember Tuesday last week. It was -30 C with a -37 C wind factor. I was like ''Man, I don't want to go to uni today'' xD -20 is completely normal for me, but when you reach -30 WITHOUT the wind factor, it's starting to get pretty excessive. Plus, with all the snowstorms, my car is stuck in the parking lot xD
We are lucky in the UK, not as cold but last night some places - 14, c and nearly everywhere had snow. But nothing compared to USA Though last summer we had the hottest summer for 40 yrs with over 6 months hardly a drop of rain, incredible for the UK....30 degree plus for weeks at a time...
I have an online friend who lives in Southampton, England. He told me that home air conditioning isn't as common in England as it is here in America. He had trouble sleeping because of last summer's heat.
Yeah literally you couldn't get a fan anywhere in the UK, England had it the hottest where I live. I'm only 50 miles from London. The parks we're so brown and fires breaking out, weird for our normally green lands. Though we are getting hotter summers and colder spells in the winter.
