Most bi are not 50 50.

Many lean to preferences to same or opposite sex

for example i thought of myself as a 4 or a 5 on the kinsey scale but now i feel closer to a 1 or a 2. the kinsey scale isnt perfect either. but bisexuality is a broad spectrum.

This is so true. I feel like a five right now. Maybe even a six! I've never been so high up on the Kinsey scale before. Which is why I am going with lesbian right now to express that. Even though my orientation is fluid and can shift.

I also I think has to do with your partner for some bi people. You can often be more drawn and fulfilled by that gender if you are in love with them. A lot of bi people are drawn in by a specific individual, and that can become their preference.

It has been an interesting 56 years. And as I get older I have gotten more used to being me.
I am comfortable being who I am. It is not 50/50 not even 49/51 but I like where I am now.
I wish there was a guide.

There actually is a bisexual guide. It's called "The Ethical Slut" (Third Edition) by Janet W. Hardy and Dossie Easton. It shows you how to bisexual very effectively.

Isn't that about polyamory though? Rather than bisexuality?

Yes, but I was not being facetious in any way. I do believe it is also a guide for bisexuality.

I completely agree - currently, I think of myself in the 4 to 4.5 range on the Kinsey scale, whereas a year and a half ago I was closer to a 3. One thing I've learned since accepting my sexuality is that it can shift over time, and repeatedly.

If I start to have feelings and getting close with a guy that's the trigger for wanting more. Not that I don't recognize physically attractive men because I do but that's not the trigger.

How do I express my queer side? I guess I don’t know how to describe what I am looking for exactly.

It depends on how you want too. Unfortunately there is no bi dress code persay. But you can do things to let people know you're not straight. You can drop hints in conversation by using gender netrual pronouns to refer to dates. You can wear a pride bracelet in rainbow or bisexual colors. You can post queer related things on social media. It depends on what you're comfortable with.

To me the web series ’la theorie de x/y’ felt like a guide to bisexuality. I’m not bi but it was really insightful

You can watch it on youtube with english subtitles
