    I'm thinking about choosing a different career path. I'm obviously going to finish up with this diploma since I have one more class to take, but looking for jobs, all I'm seeing is part-time or casual positions, and the only full time positions there are they want 5+ year experience.

    Trying to find some online graduate programs for a Master's degree in Genetics/Human Genetics/Biology/Molecular Biology/etc. So far, it has been so-so.

    Today hasn’t been that bad so far. Yesterday though I got a speeding ticket, and then I could just feel a lot of stress in the air at work. A lot of them want to leave and have been applying for jobs. Also our AC unit went out. But it’s okay we got a new one.

    Pineapple actually eats you, in a way.
    It contains an enzyme called bromelain that eats protein.
    You probably already know this but I thought it was interesting.

    I totally missed it, but yesterday marked 5 years of being out to my immediate family. I'm so grateful for their support and the support of everyone I've told since then. There's unfortunately still a lot of hate in the world, but this was a huge step in my stopping projecting that hate onto myself. Joining EC a month or so after that helped a lot too and I'm so grateful to have found this awesome community!

    I finally turned 18 today. I never thought I’d live to see the day but I’m glad I’m still around, I guess. It’s weird.

    Anyways, my granddad asked me if I’d be celebrating the day or mourning the loss of my youth. I still don’t know how I’m feeling :sweat_smile:

    New thing to regret - dropping a course early enough not to cop academic penalties to save my GPA for honours but late enough to pay for the full course.

    God I have to really get my study habits back into line.

    Wow! I don't think I ever saw that one happen at my college.

    I guess I can now take comfort in that while that was a hugely dysfunctional time of my life, at least I was able to handle getting to class on my own the first day. (Although it admittedly helped that I already had a working knowledge of the parts of campus where my classes were.)

    Kinda annoyed that everyone constantly bashes Catholics (not just here, other places as well). Other Christian denominations aren't free from blame either.

    I could balance this out pretty well, I have a large supply of shade to throw at southern Baptists after being one for most of my life haha - seriously though I get what you mean, it sucks being the target of people's judgments.
