When I was a kid the SNES was the thing. Poor guys like me had the regular NES if we were lucky. PS1? Those seemed to have dropped from outer space back in '94. Not even the richest kids at school had them.
The original PS1 price in the US was $299 which was even more money back in the 90s so I could see a lot of people not getting them. I'm not sure how much they charged by you.
I do have fond memories of PS1 and PS2 games growing up. Not only as a child playing stuff like Crash and Spyro, but also discovering games years later that I wasn't old enough to play when they first came out. A good example being Metal Gear Solid.
I had mega drive first when ps1 came out and oh boy did I want to get my hands on one! Eventually one Xmas I got one and the mega drive was sent to the closet to collect dust for ages. Loads of great games but platformers were my thing. I was a kid in the 90s so I guess I was these games target. Croc is a forgotten gem I used to love
I used to love Crash Bandicoot and Spyro. I wasn’t alive when the PS1 first came out butI can’t believe how much it was originally sold for! When I was younger, I used to go to thrift shops all the time and I’d see heaps of them sold for next to nothing. I got mine for $15! Although, this was when the PS3 was coming out. Honestly, I think I prefer older consoles anyway lol.
Suikoden 1 and 2 Vandal Hearts 1 and 2 Breath of Fire 3 Final Fantasy VII Adventures of Alundra Herc's Adventures Thems were the days
I have A PS2 but i play PS1 games on it as well as PS2 games: Gran Turismo Rayman Rush International Track & Field Formular 1 2001 Formular 1 (The one with the creepy loading screens) And A few demo discs
MGS was amazing for its time! It was the first M rated game I ever had. My cousin got it for me for Christmas and I begged my mom to let me play it. Took me forever to get past the tank hanger because I couldn’t see the walls you have to blow up. That game was great. I laughed, I cried and at certain times I was a bit scared. Plus once you beat the game you get the option of using invisibility which was so fun to play with at the time.
I used to have one, though it broke a long time ago. I even made a pint of getting a US version (instead of European) because the games I wanted, like Xenogears, weren't available in Europe. I never had many games, all in all, but the ones I had, I played them well (still wishing for a remake of Final Fantasy Tactics here).
Yep. Ps1 was one of my first consoles, atm I have two PS1 in my collection. As I child I spend most of the time with Tony Hawk. But these days I try to re-play some different games and catch up on some missed games.
