    Go out and people watch for a while.
    Observe how men dress in your area and try to emulate that look.
    Good gender neutral looks are painter pants and a pocket T or nylon running pants with a longer length T shirt.
    Those cargo type below the knee shorts are popular everywhere, I despise them personally but a lot of guys wear them. HTH
