whats the first thing you notice when you have a crush on someone

I think the first thing I notice is her smile! I'm a bit shy before meeting people, and if I smile at someone and don't get one in return, I'm less likely to talk to them. I notice her style, too, and her personality. I can't tell if my crush is serious until I know what she's like. Before meeting her, the first things I notice about my crush are her smile, her style, and her confidence. In general, I'm more attracted to confident girls.
What're the first things you notice?

 

How my palms get sweaty, my heart starts pounding, and I feel a giddy rush in my gut that makes me feel like I just got off a rollercoaster. I tend to feel all emotions very strongly though so I don't know if this is normal for most people or not. All I know is I've always been this way, and for me it's like an instant thing. The minute I walk into a room and I see someone I'm drawn too it's like there is electricity there.

 

Confidence is a major turn on for me with either gender. I love someone who acts like they own the room.

Yeah I don't feel them when they're not there but when they are there I am very aware of it. I don't know it's like they have my full attention. I just want to be near them.

Yep. I usually pull out all the stops too. I love to flirt so I usually amp it up and try to get close to them, pay them compliments, laugh at their jokes etc. I really love the thrill of the chase.

 

So is it easy for you to pick up on the fact another female is interested? For me in the begining it was difficult with guys. Now I can notice right away

 

Hmmm good question. I like to think I have pretty good gaydar, and a lot of times if I have a suspicion I end up being right. But I think it's easier with being able to tell if a guy likes other guys than a girl who likes other girls. Of course being able to tell if a man is into other men isn't all that helpful for me because I'm female so he'd have to be bi for me to have a shot. I will say though I think I'm getting better about picking out queer women. This is going to sound strange, and when I read about people talking about it I wasn't sure quite what they meant until I experienced it first hand, but there IS such a thing I think as a "lesbian gaze". I don't know how to describe it, but they way they look at other women is NOT the same as straight women. It's more intense? More teasing? It makes you feel something that isn't there with a straight girl? I don't know, I didn't use to think it was real but now I'm convinced. What I would really like to know though is if gay girls can sense when another girl isn't straight/bisexual/curious or not? Even if she looks straight can gay girls gauge whether they might have a shot anyway? Do gay girls even bother to hit on girls that seems straight? Or who were straight until proven otherwise?

 

I think I just feel differently around them. There is a sense of excitement and confusion. Most of my crushes have been on women but as I look back I realize I had a crush on my best friend from high school. Never did anything about it, of course l, but I believe I did. When I get like that I just want to be around them, yet I’m so self conscious that I sometimes stay away for fear of coming on too strong or being rejected

 

Totally this. I feel a little crazy around someone I like and I worry I will intimidate them.

 

There are many different things I find attractive but I usually know I have a crush when I keep catching myself staring at that person. I often don't notice it until the other person catches me or stares back and my heart makes a huge jump! There will be like a room filled with a 100 people but uncounciously my eye will just always wander to her!

 

This is so true! What I have found too is it is unconscious. The person may not even be conventionally attractive, or even necessarily my type but there will be something in the energy.

 

There are plenty of small things I noticed but most notably, I would say it's the smile. I had just one crush in my life so it may be different next time.
