I just don't know how am I this stupid in academics. Is it genetic? Is there a cure for the ability to lose marks in test for the silliest mistakes? UGH I wish I wasn't this lazy... :frowning2: (Guys and gals, please shower me with all the study tips you've got cuz I'm broke on that department)

I wish I didn't have plans tonight! I don't wanna have to get dressed and spend time with humans! I wanna stay in bed with my cat wearing mismatched pyjamas!

ME, except for the cat part, cause I don't have one.
I'm such a lonely hooman being.
It hurts. Am I not good enough for a pet? For a lover? For anything at all? (eg : good grades?)
I just want simple happiness in life, and I lack precisely that.

Just finished my last final of the semester, and today was my last day of work until January. I literally don't know what to do with myself right now. I feel like Atlas if he'd just had the world lifted right off his shoulders. Like, what do I even do...

Well, I can relate to that. I think I'll work on writing my stories during the holidays, but if you're ever bored then you can talk to me if you want. I'll probably be online here most of the time.

I relate. I finished my last final yesterday, and since I work at my college, I'm on break for the next three or four weeks with nothing to keep myself occupied. I'm going to try and read and be a little more productive, maybe get a head start on my classes next semester by doing some Khan academy work, but I suck at keeping myself occupied... I hate being out of routine, and it might sound weird but I wish I could still be in school. Long breaks never do me any good.. even by the end of the weekend I feel restless.

Pre-relationships are stressful. Is he distancing himself or just more comfortable and not talking as much? Ugh.

I realized today that I'm getting old. Like really old. Ancient, in fact.

Half of my life is gone and I haven't done anything with it.

Medication changes are always fun. Thankfully I've not been having too many odd side effects. This was not like the last one where I basically slept for 3 days.

My aunt in Santa Rosa’s neighborhood was narrowly missed by the fires. Since her wife uses oxygen canisters, if the fire had reached her place, it would have leveled the entire neighborhood to its foundation.

I can relate to making the dumbest mistakes, especially in math tests, usually because of my lack of attention to detail. (I swear my addition and subtraction is really sad now). That being said, my mistakes have more to do with being impatient than actually not knowing how to do something (again, technically I could add but when I just wanna get a test done 1+4= 14 in my mind). For this, I'd just make sure that I was eating enough, well rested, and in a better mood to increase patience.

    Study Methods:
    • Use Quizlet or Cram.com and create virtual flashcards to remember key definitions, formulas, etc. I like to have the app on my phone so I can study a little wherever I am. This worked really well when I had to remember 12 derivative rules for a math test and when I had to remember a heck lot of poetry terms.
    • Draw a web to draw connections between events or concepts This works really well for history class, where one historical event or social concept causes/related to another historical event or social concept. For example, "WW2"--->"Racial Segregation in the US military" --> "Double V" ---> "Civil Rights Movement" *What's going on in my head: Northern African Americans saw the extent of racial discrimination happening in their own country, particularly while training in military camps in the South. African American veterans also saw various ally powers, such as France, as having racially integrated military forces (unlike US), while fighting overseas in Europe. So, they felt that the US not only had to defeat Germany to stop their cruel agenda, but also defeat the racism that was happening in the US* I find the web ends up illegible, but it is the act of thinking through the concepts and sorta writing them down that makes this helpful
    • Use Mnemonic Devices for remembering groups of information I often use this for science classes, like for remembering metric prefixes, planets or chemical properties. For example. OXAN stands for oxidize - anode, which means that the anode always oxidizes and vise versa.
laziness, yeah I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Finding Motivation to Study (advice from my cousin)
    • You are capable of success, and no, you are not stupid If you fail, you can always try again. Don't be afraid to put in the extra effort because of the idea of it being in vain.
    • Find how academic success will help you reach your goal(s) I want to go to college, and being academically successful is a big part of getting accepted to college. I also see learning as challenging and exciting, which makes me really happy when I have an epiphany after a long struggle. Finally, learning new things expands my worldview which I value. That being said, the goals you have can affect which classes you value over others (like tbh I'm not that into literature). And that's okay. Find what goals you hold dear to yourself and start with that.
Ok, well that was way longer than I wanted this to be...but I hoped this helped
