ugh... I just realized if you're not a fan you might not know about Rocky Horror. It's a damn funny movie that has a cult following.. or at least it used to.. been way to long since I went out and watched/performed Rocky Horror.. Someone please tell me you're a Rocky fan before I feel really old LOL
Yes!! It used to be my favorite movie when I was younger (first saw it when I was 13 or 14). There are so many iconic scenes...I've never seen the live performance though. I heard it was getting remade but I don't know if that was just a rumor.
You've never seen it performed at all? like never in a theater? :*( that's like half the fun. My friends mom liked Rocky Horror and had the sound track. I knew all the words before ever seeing the movie in theaters lol There is also a whole.. giant slew of add ons people add to the movie. Things you yell at the screen or just yell out. It's a little hard to describe because there are just so many little things. The movie becomes the backdrop/prop/character in the production... See if you can find a place to go see it acted out, just be aware... hehe.. there is a chance you might get pulled on "stage" . Depending on size and tradition of the group doing it they sometimes make virgins *people that have never seen rocky in theater" go on stage and do something... it often involves whip cream lol
Well no, they don't perform it in my town so I haven't had the opportunity. I guess it's more of a big city thing. Is it 18+?
When I was younger my town was too small for that kind of thing, but I only had to drive 20 30 minutes to the larger city to see it. It's usually at really really small theaters. I haven't... I just remembered the last time I saw it.. kinda.. I actually saw a play based on the movie lol. Not the same but still fun.
Sorry, I’m new to this site and pretty much everything I am discovering; but I can’t seem to watch that RKO production without being in the theater! I have very fond memories when I went a few times in my senior year of high school .
I think i still own it.... I haven't looked through my old binders of burned dvds in forever.. Dvds... lol Old school.
The nearest big city is 8 hours away, I actually looked up RHPC performances there to see if any were on but unfortunately it's 19+ anyway. Under 19s were allowed to watch a showing of the movie but I have it at home so there's not much point XD
I own it on DVD and love it. I've never seen it in the theater because I think it's silly how people are expected to do and say certain things during it. That's rather conventional for an unconventional movie.
LOVED the Saturday Night midnight cult showings of RHPS! Just being in the theater with like minded fans was fun enough to make the experience a total blast!
Yeah it did! It was crazy, made no sense sometimes, but was always a blast especially for me! I confess, I have a hard time watching it like a regular movie, and nobody wants to watch it with me because I remember a lot of the call outs, and say them!
