best advise i can give you, enjoy the ride. it is a hugh ride, exciting, scary, loving, rewarding, pride filled, but it goes so fast. i swear all i did was blink and the little boy who ran into my arms when i came home from training, and at the end of the day from my civilian job, turned into a tall, kind, intelligent young man who's now moved out at the tender age of 19 to University. any questions, i'll try to answer, there are lots of parents here.

It is definitely a journey that is for sure. My wife and I are so excited. My wife didn't want any part of becoming pregnant or birthing of a child but I certainly did so I am looking forward to that with maybe the exception of the morning sickness. My Mom and Dad and my Wife's Parents said the same thing it goes by so fast so cherish every moment.

    Congratulations!

You might be lucky and get away with very little morning sickness! I actually found the acid reflux in later pregnancy worse.

    Enjoy it!

Thank You, I hope I get away without the morning sickness or at least it isn't too bad. Oh Acid Reflux doesn't sound like fun but at least that means it is close to delivering the little one.

It's all worth it anyway. And it's different for everybody.

Have you told people in real-life or are you waiting until 12 weeks?

I bet they're excited too. Is it their first grandchild?

We didn't tell anyone until around 12 weeks, which is fairly normal in UK. Not sure what the advice is in the USA. I think my mum would've liked to have been told sooner.

That is the norm here as well but we have been trying through artificial insemination for awhile and were so excited to hear that I was pregnant that we had to tell our parents. It will be both our parents first grandchildren.

we told my ex's parents at 10 or 12 weeks, my former father in law was cleaning his shotgun, he looks right at me, so you're sleeping with my daughter..... (we'd been married for over a year and living together over 8 years at that point) then he got up and got us both a rum and coke.

Both parents knew I was trying to get pregnant for awhile now so I think they were just sitting back and waiting for some news.
