It can be pretty daunting to read the Odyssey in its entirety, but reading the important and adventurous parts is a lot of fun. Plus, we get to watch Hercules to tie into Greek mythology, which the students love haha.

I am officially Hades, he's the Greek God I relate to the most because he was so lonely and wanted someone to keep him company. I would never go as far as he did though, but I can definitely relate cause I am a bit of a loner.

Xaxaxa don't you dare stealing my favorite god! >:C Seriously tho I agree, Hades was banished from Olympus for no reason whatsoever. And forced to stay alone in Underworld feared and hated.

I can definetly relate to some things.

Not really. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades all ended the "Titan Wars" and divided the Cosmos between each other. Zeus was given the heavens, Poseidon was given the Sea and Hades was given the "Underworld" while Earth would remain a neutral place. The specific way each location was given to each God is unknown, but the most common way of seeing it was that they simply drew straws about it. Now why can't Hades remain in Olympus even if he is ruling over the Underworld?

The Underworld is ancient, more so than the Gods themselves. Someone has to watch over the Underworld and keep everything in order. Whomever does that can never leave the Underworld for any meaningful time. Thus Hade is "cursed" to remain there until the end of time. So he didn't actually piss of Zeus, he is just doing his job, which he has grown to dislike. (Which is why in popular media, Zeus is portrayed as being rather friendly and kind with Hades, despite Hades not returning those feelings. Because they are brothers, but Hades has grown jealous of his brother.)

The way I read it was that after they ended the wars Zeus and Poseidon threw Hades to the underworld out of spite. I knew that they're all 3 brothers, but they never really cared for each other. And since then Hades hated them both, because he hates the underworld. The only thing he likes there is his loyal pet. Cerberos.

I love how I started a huge discussion about the Greek Gods, just because I said Hades was my favourite. They never did care for each other because the entire family is dysfunctional. Hera(Zeus's wife) tries to kill everyone Zeus has sex with and is almost always pissed off at Zeus because he always has children with other people, it's actually really relatable because I would be pissed off if my husband tried to have sex with everyone, I don't understand why Hera doesn't leave Zeus's ass.

Athena is just jealous of everyone who says they are better than her and so does ironic transformations on boastful humans, like turning a woman who boasted she was good at sewing into a spider, or turning a woman who boasted she was more beautiful than Athena into the Medusa so no one could see her beauty. A few of the Greek gods and goddesses weren't assholes. Aphrodite is a good example of that. She is easily the most beautiful goddess in the greek pantheon and she married one of the ugliest Gods Hephaestus. Hermes is another, and Poseidon is the major god who isn't really an asshole, and although Poseidon has lots of monster children, you can't control your children.

Aphrodite is for the most part, very patient and understanding. But She can still get pissed off if you're dumb enough to do it. Trust me on that one. I have pissed Her off, and her wrath is something I will fight like hell to not go through again.
