Ok so I'm not big on announcements but I just realised that I've pressed send on my 10,000 post well actually 10,002 once I've posted this one to be precise. I arrived here in December 2008 a mess. I was in my mid 20's, a virgin, never even been on a date with a guy. I'd always thought of myself as straight and then suddenly my world had turned upside down, I didn't know where to turn. I'd never even considered signing up to an Internet forum before and to this day I don't know what drove me to that day, but I'm extremely glad I did. I was so embarrassed about the situation I found myself in I just knew that I couldn't talk to my friends about it, at least this way nobody had to know. So I thought for old times sake and because I honestly think most of you don't believe I was ever a confused mess, here is my first post. https://forum.emptyclosets.com/index.php?threads/cant-make-sense.248568/ Technically not my actual first one because I wrote a welcome thread but there was pretty much nothing in it. I have to give a named thank you to @Mirko still going strong. Most of the people who helped me 9 years ago aren't on here anymore and there have been periods where I have been absent or less active but I will forever be in debt to EC and what it gave me, clarity in confusion, friends in loneliness and hope in despair. EC will always have such a special place in my heart even if there comes a time when I am no longer active. I only hope that by hanging around now I can help some others in a way of repaying the help I received. So this is a celebration thread, if anyone had told me on those first days when I was writing those threads that I would be here writing my 10,002 post, with a long term girlfriend, living in a house together I would have laughed and told them to get real. Remember you never know what you can achieve until you try.
Whoo-hoo! Congrats! I think we all came here a mess, and the number of people in the same boat arrives daily, if not hourly. I'm glad you found EC to be your main source of finding yourself, and here's to many more posts. You always give such great advice, and deserve a medal for what you've done for some people here.
