Have not told V. Interestingly, I had no idea what V was up to this weekend and didn't ask. She JUST texted me to see if we could go for a walk in the park alone this afternoon, but I had to say no because my son just got home. It's too bad, really. If I'd known she was around without the kids, we could have had "the talk". I would have told her what happened Friday and slipped in something about having to get over her because she's straight.

No idea where to go on our date!!! Really none... :/

Dude - you live in one of the coolest cities in the world. I'm sure there's something. Light dinner, a walk, a place with cool desserts. Dessert is sexy. Tell her how good of a [insert breakfast food of choice] cook you are. I'm jealous in the best way possible. So happy for you

    Damn, Leb10, you are smooth...

I told J that my son and I have a bunk bed since my apartment is so small. She told me I'll have to rethink that arrangement. LOL!

Lol. When J told me I seemed very comfortable and "pretty damn good at what we were doing" at the club, I said something similar.

Best way to get over someone is to get under someone else. CLEARLY!

LMAO! You are a trip. I really hope you land a job in NYC. Sounds like you are ready to have some fun. And judging by my experience, there is fun to be had.

Certainly...based on @RJay experience NYC is THE PLACE for us late in life gals. 'FUN TO BE HAD'. Stonewall, the bar that begins with a 'C'--overflowing with opportunities! Sounds like @Soundofmusic may be headed this way for her career. (Clearly a wise move!)

One thing is clear reading through all our posts, no matter where we are in this journey we are all due for a bit of fun. (Well, except for @driedroses who is already going to be having some fun on her special shopping trip! )

For the rest of us it may be time to cash in on those frequent flyer miles, head to the Metro-North station or fill up the car with gas-and have some of the FUN that is to be had in the city that never sleeps:apple:!

I think there is fun to be had in most places, it's just harder to find in some than others haha. Not that I'm knocking a party in NYC, although clearly as a wing woman only.

As I did not accept myself until I was forty it was a little late to try to tell my mother she is from another generation and it would be very hard for her....so I can deal with her not knowing for her sake....I am finally comfortable with who I am so I do not need approval from anyone now...still we all always want our parents to accept us for who we are so I understand.

    Congrats, silverhalo!

My relationship with my mother is a bit strained nowadays. Recently, she has been trying to persuade me to join this religious group under pretense of building a support system. While I agree that me and my gf need a support system, I don't think that this religious group is for me. I don't know why she is becoming more insistent for me to pray and attend the masses these days. I used to think of her as someone who is more open-minded compared to my dad, but I am not so sure anymore.
