Hi fellow Geeks, I think I realized something I am such a nerdy boy when it comes to so many things. Music: My vast collection is very organized(digitally I try to keep the amount of artists I have in a genre equal with other genres). I also love various different styles of music and what is especially nerdy is the fact I like Experimental music. DVD's and Films: Now the reason I'm nerdy here is because I love TV shows that are especially interesting and I enjoy certain series and watching them because the subject matter interests me and in this area comes my love of anime and adult cartoons(I don't really like kids cartoons that much, but I do have one that is nostalgic and one thing I remember from my childhood is Pokemon) Books: Well here we go I'm a bit of history and mythology nerd, I love all the ancient mythologies and stuff like that, in fact to be honest I've kind of never bothered with religious stuff because all the ancient mythologies were vastly more interesting to me. I love learning about some of the characters in ancient history. So I like books that involve ancient mythology and stories in their characters because it is so interesting. I prefer when books use mythology because it is always put in a more modern context which I love. Yes so these are the things I am nerdy about.
I forgot to ask the question that is custom in every thread, What are you guys total geeks about if you are nerdy people.
Probably my collection of DVD's and VHS's. I ensure that there are no gaps in all the TV shows I have or film series. I'm kinda pedantic when it comes to having complete collections.
Oh my god I'm exactly the same, I hate when I don't have the full collections of a TV series. I just want to get it, but then I control myself cause if I had the chance I would spend way too much money on DVDs and Music albums
I'm similar. I have so many unfinished collections of TV series. The worst is the Simpsons, because Fox basically said that they weren't releasing anymore of the series on DVD. There's about 28 seasons so far, but they stopped the DVDs at Season 17, so it's basically going to remain an incomplete set unless Fox changes their minds.
I also have a really bad addiction to Funko pops. Everytime I'm in a store that sells them, I have to see which ones they have. I have fourteen of them so far in my collection, and I know I'm getting three more for Christmas, because I basically picked them out and told my mom to get me them as gifts.
That sucks, I know how you feel. My shop has discontinued the collectors edition of Murder, She Wrote. They actually don't sell the show at all any more.
It's also happened with Malcolm in the Middle. There are 7 seasons of that, but only the first one was released in the United States, due to music copyrights or something. Europe has all 7 seasons, but Americans who liked the show can only get Season 1. And I'm stubborn enough that I refuse to watch the rest of the series on Netflix.
Have you tried ordering it abroad and having it posted to the US? Maybe if you have contacts somewhere in Europe you could ask for their help, family perhaps?
Nah, I don't have any relatives in Europe. I could get it on Amazon, but the way DVDs are made, they have region codes that only allow media to work on machines coded for that region. If I bought the DVDs from anywhere overseas, I'd need a DVD player from that region as well in order to get them to work, or a multi-region player. United States is Region 1.
I'm very much a nerd, as my username suggests. I love math, computers, fantasy, sci-fi, music, books, movies, videogames, tabletop RPGs, ancient history, and mythology.
I have a few small obsessions, and one big one: pro wrestling. I have a vast collection of wrestling DVDs, and for each one I write down the results of each match on the DVD. I also cross-reference matches on my DVDs with awards those wrestlers won in the year each match took place. I also have a vast knowledge of wrestling history. I can tell you that the first undisputed World Champion was George Hackenschmidt in 1905, and there hasn't been a true undisputed champion since Lou Thesz in 1948. I can tell you the top matches of all 33 WrestleManias. Plus, I can name virtually every WWE World Champion in order.
I'm a nerd. My thing is maths: I'm good at it and I plan to pursue it at college and university. I'm also obsessed with UK politics, both current and historically, and I love reading political books/ autobiographies, and TV shows like The House of Cards, Yes (Prime) Minister and The Thick of It.
I'm not over TLK since I did buy a cup and a colouring book with stickers. I'm totally Dreamworks movie Trash, especially How to train your dragon, the 2 HtoTyD Artbooks where worth the price + other merch. And I normally don't like figures who don't move a bit. Guess what I did buy. I'm also Kingdom Hearts Trash, besides (almost) all the games & manga I have a bunch of other KH stuff I own. I'm still a proud Digimon Trashfan, I love Japan for all the Tri merch. (^-^)~♥ And I love my Lego&plushy collection + I have some dolls. I really want a asian Ball Joint Doll. Let's not forget the awesomeness of Books, I read all kinds of genre but my favourite is currently "Children of the Lamp by P.B. Kerr". And I hope the Artemis Fowl movie(s?) don't get ruined. I can read hour-long Books of other country's history&culture and won't get bored
Video games! Particularly jrpgs, though i'll play a bit of everything. I have over 1,000 games on steam, and around 100~ Ps3, Ps4 and 3DS games. My favourite series are the Atelier series, Final Fantasy, Hyperdimension Neptunia and Kingdom Hearts.
I'm obsessed with mythology and mainly other cultures myths surrounding death and beyond. Yeah I'm morbid, don't care.
All kinds of stuff! Primarily games and animation, but I also know a lot of film, music, and the occasional TV show as well ^^; I'm a huge fan of more retro games but I still follow the scene regularly
Reading wise I'm in to manga favourite series at the moment are Bleach and Vinland saga both are amazing. I also love "normal" books as well Terry Prachet's Discworld series is exciting and weird. I like gaming love games like final fantasy, persona, kingdom hearts, nier automata and many others. A class geek (that's not commonly used in the Uk like)
I am totally a video game dork. Especially Nintendo, but love many rpgs and other platformers as well.
Knives and Heavy Metal are my obsessive interests What do you enjoy about lowercase music? I'm just curious. It's definitely not my cup of tea. You mentioned lowercase music in another thread
