You know you're trans when...

When you've gone two weeks without washing your only binder. While it's in the wash and you're forced to wear something else...

 

A girl comes into your work wearing what amounts to a bra for a shirt and you can only think about the fact that you're jealous of her body, and also the fact that that's an option for her...

 

you hate to get dressed in the morning because you have to dress in mens pants and shirt.

 

-your mom says you "should stop doing that to (cutting) your hair"
-you try to convince yourself it's okay that you'll never be happy
-you spend hours on EC hoping people will give you advice when all you need is to grow a pair and tell your mom
-you showed up to prom in a tux but had to use the girl's bathroom cause your school thinks you're a girl
-people say they "love it when a girl rocks a suit"
-you search online and hope and pray for a miracle cure
-you never form meaningful relationships because you're lying to everyone
-you can't talk to your dad because even though you're not out, you know he's transphobic
-all your accomplishments don't matter because she did them, not you
-you cry because you're so darn dysphoric but then you get more dysphoric because crying isn't "manly"


...to name a few...

 

Not only am I shorter than most dudes my age, but I am also shorter than the majority of my female friends.

 

When you wear height increasing insoles, because you're short

 

- When you are super jealous of all of the cis males at your school
- When you push down your boobs every time you look in the bathroom mirror after a shower
- When your worst nightmare is people seeing you as a woman once you become an adult

 

(same with my sports bra)

Or, like me, when you don't own a binder yet and you're addicted to your only sports bra and it smells like hell.
But that sports bra it's so sporty that I can walk around the house shirtless wearing it and pretend with myself that I'm topless (?).

 

Finding that perfect angle in the bathroom mirror where your chest looks flat and you're like, damn boy you fabulous.

 

when it seems all you can think about is being out, being yourself. being the woman you're destined to be.

 

It's driving me insane.

 

my saving grace is my plan, my knowing it's temporary. i felt so free when i made up my mind that this is the last summer as my male self. terrifying too but still a goal to work towards. when i get down or cant see how to move forward, i think what's the plan what do i need to do to make it happen... this usually gets me back on track and moving forward.

This, but to add to it

you know you are trans when he sweated heavily in your binder so you have to wash it, so you wait till the new roommates are at work so that they can't see you in the sport bras that barely flatten, and then pray to what ever being there may be that the binder will be dried before they get home from work and you have to explain where the boobs came from.

 

It must be hard to be stealth with your roommates. I understand at work, but roommates. O.O

They both know I am trans, but they have never seen with out a binder on. I never leave my room without it on.
Couldn't be stealth if I wanted to between my hips and the fact that even binding doesn't hide the fact that I have boobs. The sad life of having DD+ chest.

 

may i ask why? you were so excited to transition. if it's too personal i completely understand.
