According to other articles, she was actually listed as male on the roster, and they used that as a reason to disqualify her as well. But they also refused to look at the insurance card, apparently. Regardless, it still doesn't mean they should have disqualified the entire damn team (or Mili, obviously). So not only is it stupid bigoted it's also stupid illogical and my head is hurting from trying to make sense of the entire thing.

Silly archaic thinking always takes the cake, no?

Can't wait for they day we're all just seen as people. I'll give it three thousand years tops.
Humans usually make slight mental progress every few hundred years anyway.

Geez, it's kids playing soccer, there's no reason this couldn't have been solved quickly and easily. Regardless if a form said M or F the officials should have taken the parents' word that she's a girl, understood a misprint and moved on.

Just seems like a simple misunderstanding that could have been solved easily if the officials weren't so stubborn and absolute with their judgment. Especially since the parents cooperated with them.

It had nothing to do with what she looked like. It was against the rules for a boy to be on the team, and a typo had her listed as a boy. They should have corrected the typo, so they were disqualified.

Why? Hair length doesn't determine gender or sex.

Sure but if they see that she's listed as a boy in an all- girls tournament they could at least check in with the team first abd ask what's up with that since the competitors should have clearly known that no boys were allowed and thus would never let one play.

On another notes: Those are kids, it's pretty darn hard to diffirentiate girls and boys without clothes, hair etc. at that age, so why would short hair even be a factor in not believing her?

It wasn't a factor. It was all about the typo. They should have fixed the typo. Yeah, sucks that they didn't let her play, but rules is rules.

True, though I still stand by the point that if it's an all girls-tournament they should at least get back to the team and ask if there's been a mistake before disqualifying them, since there's pretty much no reason to have a boy in your team when playing in a contest that is clearly girls-only.

I think the world will be completely destroyed by climate change before people are just seen as people. After that no one will care about anything except survival.

That's probably politics. Maybe Mili's group has a good change in the tournament so somebody found a dumb way to disqualify them.. it worked though

It shouldn't. What happened is truly sad but if we want people to be open minded its important for us to also be open minded. A lot of these people can't help the way they think. We should look at these matters from all sides and be the bigger man so to speak and come to a solution. Its a never ending struggle and its not meant to be easy.
