Do shirts tend to fit differently around the chest area when binding? If so, how do they? I have a large enough chest that I have to go up a size sometimes (especially with like button up shirts) and I'm wondering if that would change when I bind.

I tried to google this but I couldn't really get the results I was looking for.

    Thanks!

I don't have a sizeable chest (yet :dry:slight_smile:, but it really depends on the clothing itself. If you buy tight fitting clothing that is more geared towards people with female figures, chances are it is going to be manufactured to fit around a chest. However, if you buy male clothes, they will generally fit the same. I've noticed that men's clothes are generally loose-fitting overall, but for the shirts you've gone up a size in due to chest size you may experience a bit of extra bagginess.

Overall, it shouldn't make any drastic differences, but don't count on everything staying super perfectly fit (like if you have a suit of any kind, or something of the sort, that you like to fit well, you may need slight adjustments made. This really does depend on chest size though.)

Good luck and congrats on getting a binder!

Ah, this is really helpful. I like my shirts to be a tad baggy so it's nice to know they might be a bit baggy. But, if I do wear formal wear that will be good to know.

    Thank you very much!

I agree that the binder may make your shirts a bit baggier, but it does depend on the amount of compression your binder provides. So do keep that in mind as well.

I'm a DD and my shirts fit a bit looser when I bind but not that much that it actually makes any difference.

    I got mine from https://www.gc2b.co
