Actually the most effective hair removal method is electrolysis. It can remove any hair permanently. It's expensive, a bit painful and riquires patience but the best method known. Laser works only on dark hair and hair regrows in one year. Even if it's cheap and fast it doesn't give you the wanted look.

so my therapist has been giving me beauty tips. she said I should start a skin care routine for my laugh lines and colouring under my eyes. and I followed her suggestion and I started using exfoliating wipes, followed by serum for the puffiness under my eyes along with the shadows, and then moisturizing cream on the laugh lines and generally all over. I started this on the 3rd? and I have to say my skin, especially under my eyes is noticeably softer.

so yayy. now if I could get a serum to get rid of my beard I'd be laughing.

Coconut oil is FANTASTIC for moisturizing and fills in little lines and is a perfect base layer before putting on foundation or right under powder.

So I've recently started making small changes to my body recently. I'm still afraid to come out to my parents, but I have two IRL friends who know at this point, (and a few online). The thing is, is that now that I'm starting to see myself more as a girl every day, I've been spending a lot more time grooming and taking care of my body, as much as taking two to three showers a day (only use shampoo/condition once a day though), and shaving twice a day. Am i going overboard with it and possibly causing damage to my body? I want to feel more like who i am on the inside, but until i come out and shave my arms/legs/chest (cant really do now, because it'll draw attention) I really don't know where to go from here. Any advice?

Just take it at your own pace. I shave all that stuff and no one says anything. You'd be surprised how little people actually care.

I definitely wouldn't suggest taking more than one shower a day, certainly not three. I don't think it's good for your skin. As for shaving twice a day, I can't imagine that is good on your skin either or comfortable.

Might I ask why you couldn't shave your body? Lot's of guys shave their chest at least, and unless you have some special circumstances you could probably shave your legs and no one would see them most of the time, same with armpits probably. If you really can't do that, perhaps get a body trimmer so you can at least thin it out to a more normal female level and go for the whole feminist look.

Especially this time of year, most girls don't keep up with shaving maintenance because it's covered all the time.

Any makeup wearers have tips on putting together a first kit? What is essential vs what I probably don't need to keep around?

Thanks for the advice y'all. I guess i was going overboard for a while. But you're right, i can probably get away with shaving my body hair down, or at least using a variable-length trimmer (which i actually have one of) to reduce some of my anxiety about my arms/legs. Thanks guys/girls ^.^

Also, I'd love to hear any recommendations put forward, especially for when its time for me to go out with the girls next. I know next to nothing about makeup, and at this point im still to afraid to ask the "professionals" I know :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Also, does anyone have any hair care tips?

Edit: forgot to ask my follow-up question *facepalms*

I also heard some guys shave their legs because they are cyclists and it apparently has some kind of effect.

It's more common with swimmers. They shave their whole bodies to reduce water resistance in able to swim faster. Cyclists do it as well due to air resistance, but it's nowhere near significant, I'd personally think it's completely negligible.

Okey. You will need some kind of foundation. Powder or liquid. Make sure it's good for the skin and adresses your personal needs in that regard because you wear it long. Like sun protection, acne / sebum production, dry skin, allergies, covering reds, etc. I think you girls need to look for some tips on how to cover up the facial hair, which I don't know. There is a choice of correctors too, if you have dark shades under your eyes or bad spots.

Second, mascara and some natural shaded lipstick. You can go transparent, or some pink, or lip gloss. Of course you can go bolder if you want to, but those require more care in both wearing and application. Of course remember about proper moistruisation first, especially in the winter.

Mascara... I think there is no philosophy to it. They sell it in black and brown (and in some blue and violet but people don't normally wear it), and in waterproof or not, and also have some other features like how much volume they add or if they cause allergy... Watch out the waterproof if your skin is oily like mine because it will dissolve in the sebum and will be all over around the lashes and will make you look tired.

I think also eyeliners are also quite basic. Keep in the same shade as the mascara. The choice of fluid vs stick, and the colour, is up to what you like, and down to the individual products and how they work for you.

Shall I add something else? :icon_bigg I think as for the beginning, that's enough.

And remember about makeup removal. Both waterproof and not waterproof removal liquids. It's important so that your skin doesn't get tired (and ugly).
