With wheel and pedals of course. I'd still like to drive from time to time. It's a very therapeutic activity

Yes, if there were a manual override. The more self-driving cars are tested, the better they get, and thus they can be more rigorously tested. It leads to an ever-increasing rate of software improvement which means that if every car on the road were self-driving, people would be very much safer than we are now.

But without manual controls, you wouldn't be able to account for the odd situation where you have to put the car somewhere off the accepted path. There's no reason not to add that basic necessity.

No. Might be paranoid here, but I could foresee someone saying "It wasn't me who caused the car crash, it's a self driving car, there's something wrong with it, I shouldn't be punished" which takes responsibility away and means people who kill those in car crashes are not being punished simply because they didn't control it, but it still happened on their guard. So I guess unless people take responsibility for the actions of their car and unless it is perfectly [at least 99% - as nothing I don't think can be 100%] safe, then I'd prefer no one to have it.

I saw no because I'm a control freak.

No, I'd rather be in control at all times. There's just too many obstacles such as weather, road conditions and blind spots. Self parallel parking has been a big fail for almost a decade, what makes you think this will be any better? lol

I'll skip self-driving cars and wait for flying cars instead!

I'm skeptical of this kind of technology, which is why I said no. I just don't think we're ready for it is all

I feel like flying cars would be an even bigger disaster. Imagine how the traffic in the air would be regulated. The very thought makes me cringe

No way. They are way to complex and useless in anything but perfect weather... no wait that one self driving Tesla was in Florida and still crashed into a semi truck on a nice sunny day.

I don't even like the collision avoidance systems they are putting on big rigs. A friend's multi hundred thousand dollar rig saw ghost imagines and locked up the brakes on an icy road putting him in the ditch. First accident he had in over a million miles, because the "smart" system doesn't work in cold snowy conditions.

I like the idea of self-driving cars, but there are too many variables to consider. The technology is too new, in my opinion, that's it's not easy to get close to perfect. That being said, if the self-driving tech was perfected, I would still be skeptical. What if one person has a self-driving car, and the other person doesn't? What if those two people collided, would it be the automated cars fault or the fault of the person who really drives that car?

No, never. It's not that I'm against self-driving cars (there's a lot of shitty drivers out there who should never touch a steering wheel again) but I love driving too much. Would never give that up.

No need. I have a bicycle. Also, I can't afford a normal car, never mind some super fancy self-driving car.

I really hate driving and if technology gets good enough that I can feel safe in a self driving car, I'd be happy to have one. However, I don't trust it just yet... So no...

I think not driving takes all the fun out of cars. But it would be nice to have one that could both drive itself and be manually controlled. Especially for those times when people are to tired or drunk.

As long as there was some way to take control of it when you need to, I'd have no problem with self-driving cars. Having them could end up saving a lot of lives if it could be used to transport people who have fallen asleep at the wheel or if the driver is under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

I would not buy a self driving car haha. I love to drive, so I think I would be pretty bored if I had a car that drove itself haha.

Well, it would be nice to have a sleep on a long car journey home when you've got 200 miles to go.

I definitely would, as long as I can still drive myself if I want to. I really like driving on the highway (here in Germany you are allowed to drive really fast sometimes, which can be fun). However I hate parking or being in stop-and-go traffic, so it would be nice to lean back and let the car do the job in those situations.
