    I texted her a little today. I think I'll try to talk or text a little bit every day, to help get to know each other better.

    It feels really good that our mutual friend, who has been close with her over a decade, wants me to go for it.

    I am having some vague, anxious feelings tonight. Maybe it's the pre work week anxiety, just transferred back a day. ..... Well, and the crowd on the square for the fireworks was very anxiety producing. I guess maybe I just havent shaken that. I was glad to spend time with my friends, but it was so crowded, and it made me feel not safe. Fireworks were great for a small town, over 20 min of really good ones, but I couldnt enjoy them because I was so anxious about the crazy crowd.

    Ok, so, maybe I can sit in the quiet for a minute and remind myself that I'm safe at home. I really need a shower, but I hate that so much, especially when anxious. Maybe 10 min in quiet with a comic book and the aquarium will help, then try.

    I'm feeling a little better, but I don't think I can do the anxiety shower tonight. Hopefully dry shampoo and sleep will be enough for right now.

    J told mutual friend S that she needs to buy her a late birthday dinner. S turned to me and invited me so the three of us could hang out on Saturday. :slight_smile: It means so much to me that she sees me as a good person for her friend, even if nothing ever comes of it.

    I have been following this thread quietly and rooting for you haha! I hope something does come of it and the fact that her friend likes you and almost seems to be shipping you two is a really good sign. :lol:

    I hope today is a better day. I'm totally with you on crowds. I've gotten better in recent years, but I used to have really bad panic attacks at large events - especially fireworks when they are over and everyone tries to vacate the area without the lights being back on.

    I am feeling pretty good. Just tired. Way less anxious. I have procrastinated work lately by cleaning the house (cuz, you know, what if I can invite J over for lunch?) and I am really amazedhowmuch it is reducing stress for my house to not be a gross disaster, especially as bad as it got while I was sick last week. Not perfect, but good and much improved.

    Maybe Saturday we can hang out for dinner and after dinner and maybe I can find some way to tell her I like her.... would it be cheating if I like texted it to her while we were in the same room? Haha. Maybe it would be ok if I could make it cute. :slight_smile: Bet I could make it cute. :slight_smile:

    Oy, now I'm nervous about what to wear. :slight_smile: I know it's not a date. It's like, a pre date. But, I want to be cute. Damn, I literally weighlike twice what she does.... But, I'm a good person, and thats got to make up for like 25 pounds anyway, right? Maybe similar interests will forgive another 20?

    Her birthday is in like 2 weeks. Wondering if I could figure out a little present.... damn, I wanna send a girl flowers.... Hahaha, edible arangement has a whole new meaning. :wink: But, really though, something sweet, not dirty. :wink:

    Well you had fun, that is all that matters! :slight_smile: Perhaps you could just ask her out on a date instead of directly saying you like her? I feel like just casually asking with no expectations might put her less on the spot and not risk things getting weird if she doesn't want to?

    Something like:
    Katchoo: Hey J, wanna go grab a coffee/beer sometime next week?
    J: Sure!
    Katchoo: I mean, like a date, just to be clear. :lol:
    J: Would love to!
