Another job application with a question that stumps me:

Are you Hispanic of Latino: Yes

    Please select race:
    American Indian or Alaska Native
    Asian
    Black or African American
    Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander
Two or more races (not Hispanic or Latino)
    White
    Choose not to identify

I chose "choose not to identify," for lack of an answer I felt appropriate, not because I didn't want to answer.

Maybe I should ask Trump for his opinion .

I always choose American Indian/Two or more races. The old way was to group Mexican-Americans in with "whites", when they clearly weren't seen or treated as such. Even if we have more Med ancestry than African, American Indian, or Asian, it must be one of those legal technicalities after the war.

I would pick "two or more," but it excludes those who chose "Hispanic," and the issue with "American Indian" is that for most employers and Census issues it's very specific usual involves tribal/community affiliation, which I wouldn't say I have. I speak Spanish fluently, but I lack the "community affiliation."

Not that the questionnaire matters, but it is very funny how sometimes through so many definitions it creates a hole where certain people don't quite fit. It should include a "two or more without regard to Hispanic ancestry" option.

Middle Easterners are also another group that don't quite "fit." By treaty and definition also "white," but could technically fall under "Asian".

Putting people in boxes is only easy when they're dead.

Oh my god. That debate last night though...like how do so many people think Trump won that? He was all over the place. Outright lying..shouting over Hillary and Lester. He looked like a hot mess. I saw a tweet that said all of his answers were like a box of jumbled Christmas lights, and that's so true...yikes.

He's been like that this whole time though. It doesn't matter to the masses - he is perceived as a "winner" strictly through demagoguery. The American populace is to blame.

Two people have said that I remind them of Kate McKinnon. This is easily one of the best compliments I could ever be given.

For me, it's the disclosure of disability form. It's like, my disability doesn't hinder me that much but in the off chance that it does and I say I don't, I'm screwed. And I know I can choose not to disclose but if I were a hiring manager, I would think well why does this person not want to disclose. And I know it's illegal to discriminate on the basis of disability but to my mind, the hiring manager could just be like 'oh we can't hire a disabled person so we'll just cover it up by we'll look for something else to not extend an offer of employment"

Great another homeless person causing me trouble. I no longer feel safe in the neighborhood I loved and grew up in, honestly, this stuff is making me grow to hate it. I guess every neighborhood has its time. Just venting I guess.

I surprised even myself by getting tonight's Final Jeopardy question right. The category was 21st Century Music, which is what I grew up listening to. The question was:

The title of a Frida Kahlo painting inspired the 3-word name of this 2008 No. 1 hit by a British group.

The answer was Viva La Vida by Coldplay. I never liked that song, but who knew it'd be on Jeopardy one day?

My local tattoo shop was doing walk-ins today (for ink and piercings), and I'm pissed that I didn't get to go. I finally figured out what tattoo I want to get next (aside from my rattlesnake patronus) and it's one of the tattoos that Trent (from Daria) has, specifically the one on his left forearm.

I've seen others get it and it looks fantastic. That's my dream goal right there (and eventually more Daria inspired ink). I'm hoping to get it next time the shop has another walk-in date, assuming I can get out of the house with how hectic life is right now--with my mom about to go through chemo and my wedding coming up.

I'm irritated beyond belief at the moment. I know it's something that I'll think is dumb and insignificant in the morning, but right at this moment I'm just tired of all this juvenile bullshit.

In a weird mix of emotions, I'm already cooling down about it, but am still quite angry

This is a problem I've only had in Texas. I've never felt confused about my race until I had to answer a questionnaire in Texas. I will check yes for hispanic or latino but they won't give me any options that adequately represent my race. I'm Dominican and we are a complete mix of African, European, and Native American blood. I don't know why they would have such a stupid question in a state that has such a heavy Latino population. It's truly baffling.
